My Question or Issue

Just started today. 01/10/2021. When listening to music using bluetooth to my headphones sony wh-1000x M3 the app will completely crash. This happens shortly after I click the side button to lock my phone. If I leave the phone open it doesn't crash. I have logged out of my account. closed the application. logged back in and it still does the same. No issues when connected to my car using apple car play and connected with a cord directly to the car. Also might help to know I recently got some sonos speakers that I switch also use. Haven't had any issues with those but haven't gotten home to test to see if those are having the same issue.

Also crashes when I leave the app to work in any other app on my phone.

Hi there @1236853399,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community and welcome!

Could you try unpairing your phone and headphones, restarting your phone, and pairing them again?

If that doesn't make any difference, could you try connecting the phone to a different Bluetooth device to see if the same happens?

We'll be on the lookout.

Similar issue here on my iPhone. Since updating to version 8.7.90 anytime I’m connected to a Bluetooth speaker the app will crash when: I try to tune off the screen to save battery, or let it play for a while song or two. The app freezes and eventually crashes.   None of this happens if I’m not connected to a Bluetooth speaker. This has also never happened using the same Bluetooth speakers before updating to the newest app version.

Hey folks,

Thanks for reaching out.

Are you using any third party apps to control/set up your Bluetooth devices? If yes, please make sure that Background app refresh is enabled for Spotify and for those apps.

Keep us posted.
