My Question or Issue
spotify has started only playing part of songs on both shuffle and normal play before it skips to the next song. Very annoying.
Is there a way to fix this?

Could you share more details on your device setup? We'd like to know the brand/model, operating system version and the Spotify app version you're using.
In the meantime you can try performing a clean reinstall as described here, so we can be sure, that you're running a fresh installation of the app.
It's important to also check if the described issue occurs on the web player aswell.
