Hello.
Yesterday I started using Spotify in my Iphone. I added about 10 tracks to "my music" and about 4 tracks to "playlist'. The "offline mode" is OFF in settings and in the "songs" menu. When I looked up at my apps usage in Iphone settings - Spotify was ~800 mb (30 for the app and 770 for data usage).
Can anyone explain why it happens in that way? I can understand if I turned "offline mode" ON and all the tracks would be donloaded in 320kbps, but i didn't.
Thanks in advance
Hey there @ninnworx, welcome to the community!
In terms of phone storage, Spotify caches the music and album covers to help with faster speeds and bandwidth. If you would liek to clear the cache go to the Spotify App > Tap the "hamburger" menu icon > Settings > Scroll down to the bottom and tap "Delete cache and saved data." Be aware that when doing this, Spotify will have to re-cache each song you play so this will you your carrier data and/ or Wi-Fi when you stream music.
In terms of cellur data usage, Spotify uses quite a bit of data when streaming. You can change the quality of the music so you can lower your bandwidth usage by going to the Spotify App > Tap the "hamburger" menu icon > Settings > Scroll down to "Music Quality" and change the quality on "Streaming" and "Download" to your desire.
Hello!
I'm sorry to hear that your having problems.
You can disable downloads over 2G/3G by going into the app's settings and going down to "Music Quality". This will stop you using your mobile data when you wish to download music for offline play. It needs to say "ON" for it to disable the app to download music via the mobile network.

What's a Spotify Rock Star, and how do I become one?!

In "Settings" in the bottom there is no such option/button "Delete cache and saved data." (look at the pic attached)
If this music is cached and I will turn on "offline mode", will it mean that it will double my memory usage on the phone? 😮
In case not to create a new "theme", I also wanted to ask about difference in "SONGS" and "PLAYLISTS". Do I understand everything right by saing that I can only add every music to the certain playlist and not saving them to the "SONGS"?
