Cannot log in to or account link to Spotify Live

My Question or Issue

My wife and I are Premium Users with the Family Plan and in exactly the same position.

We got invites to view the Ghost fan chat event for this morning via email and in the email we're told to download Spotify Live and that the accounts need to be linked to the accounts where where invited. 

We did this and clicked the "Continue With Spotify". We get told we don't have a Spotify Live account and would we like to register a new one (despite that we are logged in to Spotify while doing this).
I though perhaps we should click the "Log In" button below and use our Spotify account log in details.  Our Log Ins are tied to Facebook so it asks for user name and password and has no option for Facebook log in.  No matter what I try it has the same result - username and password not valid.

At this point I go back to the "Continue With Spotify" option and create an account figuring there will be some way to link the accounts inside the app.  There isn't.  As far as I can tell the new Spotify Live account does not have any connection to my actual Spotify account.

At this point I am under 2 hours away from the event, trying to do my day job and wasting a ton of time on a system that seems designed to be as difficult as possible.

Live is a great idea but has terrible execution.

Can anyone please help us on this or offer some advice as to how we can fix/link these accounts??
