Following count not updating on profile

My Question or Issue

The following count on profile is not updating when following a new artist, but it does update when following a 'normal' account.

Example:

My current following count is '5', if i follow a friend/normal profile, it goes up to '6' after refreshing the profile/closing the app and going back to the profile, but If i follow 'drake' it doesn't go up to 6 from 5 after refreshing/closing the app, it stays at 5.

It would be great if you could share some more info with us, such as if you've already performed any troubleshooting steps so far as suggested by @AlejaR in this post or if the same behavior continues after a couple of days.

My Question or Issue

I was logged into my spotify account on my mom's phone and now it's not updating follower and following counts on both of our accounts. I had 29 followers before she followed me with her account and it's still not working. I tried logging in and out multiple times and I cleared the cache and nothing is working

The problem has returned, and it’s even worse now. When I follow an artist account, the “following” count doesn’t increase, and when I unfollow an artist account that I followed before the bug appeared, the count doesn’t decrease.

Example 1: I follow 10 people. I follow the artist Drake, but the number stays at 10 instead of increasing to 11.
Example 2: I follow 5 people. I unfollow Taylor Swift, but the number stays at 5 instead of dropping to 4.

Restarting the app, reinstalling it, clearing the cache, and logging out and back in all don’t resolve the issue.

To be clear: this only happens when following or unfollowing artist accounts. following or unfollowing regular profiles works as expected.

Hey folks,

Note that it may take up to 24 hours for the follow count to update in the UI, but rest assured the action is properly registered in the backend and will soon be reflected in the app as well.
