My Question or Issue
Random phones keep connecting to my Spotify account and kicking me out from the music I am playing, when I look at the devices connected its always a different name (ie. Ivy’s IPhone). In my device management I am unable to forget the device or kick them off.
I have attempted to sign out of all devices through the website and change my password multiple times to no avail. The most recent time I reset my password, I logged back into Spotify on my phone and within the first 30 seconds of my listening, my music was paused and when I checked I was yet again connected to a random iPhone.
It has gotten to the point where Spotify is unusable for me and I cannot even get through a song without it connecting to another device.
Hey @blakeland,
Thanks for your reply in this thread.
In this case, we suggest you follow the steps you can find here to protect your account.
Additionally, make sure to log in to your account page, scroll down, and select SIGN OUT EVERYWHERE. This way you’ll sign out from every device in which your account is open.
Note: Keep in mind this can take up to 1 hour to take effect everywhere.
We'll be on the lookout for your replies.
Take care!
These replies are bogus, the account hasn't been hacked, your connect feature has a bug, my music session is being stopped because it's connecting to random people's sessions without us excepting it, imagine listening to 30s of a song and it cuts to find you're now just seeing what some random is listening to and you have no sound.
Did anyone find a fix for this. I’m also going to be cancelling my subscription. It’s painful when you never know if Spotify is going to work or not.
This has been happening to me oh my god!!!! It is SO annoying. I was so excited to get Spotify premium 😭
Hi all,
few times this has happened to me but I just disconnected my Bluetooth and kept moving.
now it’s becoming a problem where I can’t listen to music!!!!
and I can confirm I’m not part of any group. I don’t even have premium.
can someone give some answers.
Genuinely how would this help anyone in any capacity. This is not solving the problem. What if someone owns 2 devices and Spotify is logged in to both. Then, for no given reason at all, it switches between the two. The issue is, that Spotify is an absolutely terrible app.
Hey Ricky, I also get the same issues. Have Spotify open, random people connect to my iPhones ‘My Devices’ and interrupt the Spotify playback (it’s all broken and intermittent connection), really annoying as it makes Spotify unlistenable…unless, you take the page off Spotify and have say, settings/bluetooth open and the issues happens much less, if at all.
it never happens on iPlayer, only Spotify. Like you, I have turned off all visibility, party mode etc, with no luck. It’s getting to that stage where I’m thinking if ditching Spotify and looking at Apple Music. Anyone @spotify can help? I’m using an iPhone 13 Pro and JBL Charge 5
