spotify randomly play music from the same chinese artist the same time everyday

spotify randomly play music from the same chinese artist the same time everyday

hi, my account start playing songs from one chinese artist at the same time (3:54pm UTC+7) everyday for the past 4 days in a row now, and I'm not sure why.

Yes, I already change password.
Yes, I've checked nobody has controlled over what music I've played.

What more do I needed to check?

Edit: This has yet not been resolved ,seems like spotify accounts got breach to stream this chinese artist and the problem still occuring. For me I got it resolved by logging out of all devices but I don't know how others are doing.

This is the chinese artist >> https://open.spotify.com/artist/0tRn2lWQKRSC1HyGmP5W3G?si=0AjZD6DpTZyhJ5OfhTplQg

If you got the same problem please take time to reply so the dev can see this more and eventually maybe help faster. ( but with this occurrence I'm just gonna move to apple music haha )

Surely this is Malware *outside* Spotify using a command to open a Spotify URI like "start spotify:track:2bmgv7q8RgC0NgF9SlGlpe". I suggest any sufferers scan their device for malware and check for any scheduled tasks that have been configured in the OS to do something like this.

@wplummer - You sound like a real know it all. Here you go. No threats found.

Did you also check for a scheduled task in the OS? The malware may have cleaned itself up after creating one.

same chinese song at 10 am Warsaw time on phone or pc almost everyday

Same artist and same issue here in Chicago. Sonos speakers, Alexa speakers. Help!

I also seem to have fixed this by "logging out of all devices." I had uninstalled both the Spotify and Sonos apps from my phone and re-installed them, and changed both passwords prior. I haven't had a recurrence after logging out of all devices and starting fresh everywhere.

Just replying to say that I'm also having this problem where it randomly stops my music and cuts to that exact song.

I’ve been having this problem too!! So annoying! I think the artist is trying to boost his stream ???

This is also happening to me on my MacBook Pro 16-inch Sonoma 14.3. Has been for about a month now. Exact same artist / song.

Hi Yordan

do you have an update conserning that issue?

TinaW - sent him a message through this portal but he never answered. Then, Friday, I actually contacted support. Apparently, it's a known issue but the tech couldn't really offer any support other than what others have tried on here. I suggest that people here use the chat feature under spotify.com support. The more contacts they get with this issue, the higher it moves up on their priority. I'm at a point where I need to evaluate if it's worth keeping Spotify if this doesn't get fixed soon.

Hey folks,

Thanks for all your replies and reports.

Our tech folks continue looking into this. We recommend you log out everywhere and remove all the apps connected to your account. To do it, go to your account page and, under Security and privacy, locate Manage apps. If you notice anything suspicious there, make sure you remove it with the REMOVE ACCESS button. You can easily reconnect all the apps you do recognize later.

Afterwards, check in the coming days to see if you notice any difference in this behavior.

In the meantime, make sure you're always running the latest version of Spotify so you don't miss out on any updates.

We’ll be on the lookout!

Same thing happening to me. Same song. At 4:04pm everyday. Very loud. So weird.

About to log out on both devices to see if that fixes it.

Same thing happened again just now, I had my galaxy watch6 connected to my phone (S24 Ultra) but that song only playing on my watch suddenly. I was at work so the spotify app wasn't open. The phone wasn't affected bcs I had changed the password 3 weeks ago

I have removed all suspicious connected apps, now only Google Map, Riverside App (Spotify Podcast associated), Google, and Spotify.me. But just a minute ago it's playing the same song again. Then I opt for "Don't Play This Artist". The result, it then automatically played a different one. Screenshot of the song/artist below.

C'mon Spotify, you gotta resolve this, this gets worrying even more. I'll unsubscribe if I don't see this resolved in a week.

Thanks!

Sorry none of these helped. Spotify please resolve ASAP.

I did everything suggested and I still got this issue.

This is also happening for me too.
Brand new Pixel 8 Pro, no previously connected devices and the manage apps section of the settings page only shows Google and Spotify.
I'd love for this to be removed, as its clear that the same artist's playlist keeps being played on multiple devices and device types across a variety of customers

My Question or Issue

Hello friends.
She has been suffering from a problem with Spotify for a few months.

It turns out that every morning at the same time, it starts playing the same song (in Japanese or Chinese). I don't know that song nor is it on any of my lists, and then, if I don't stop it, it continues playing more related songs on Japanese or Chinese.

The thing is, I don't know why this happens, I've been using Spotify for a long time and nothing similar has ever happened to me.
Say that I have my account connected to many devices:

Imac, Macbok, Mobile Samsung s24 ultra, several alexa, android car play, etc.

Yes, a few months ago (it could be related) I looked for a song in Japanese, but I simply looked for it and since I liked it, I added it to one of my playlists, I didn't do anything else or so I would say...

Anyway, I've searched for a lot of information and I don't see anything similar, let's see if someone knows how to help me.

Greetings and thank you.

Same problem, same artist... at least that's the one that usually plays first!

Problem started in May/June, quite random at first but now it's happening on one specific speaker (Sonos) at the same time every day.  It's always from my wife's Spotify account - we've changed her password and removed access from a couple of playlist services that we don't remember adding.  Otherwise it's just Google, Sonos and PlayStation.  She's not even here when it starts playing.

We came back from holiday and it had been playing non-stop for 3 days... her entire recently played list is now full of chinese artists, and no way of clearing them.

I am having this same issue, im not sure its at the same hours but yeah its the same artist. Im in Mexico, I've seen it happen arround 1:30 am or such. Its GMT -6 here  Is there a fix for it yet?
