My Question or Issue

Since 2 days spotify does not load and play albums on android auto (both wireless and wired). It does play playlists. Emptying cache, reinstalling spotify and android auto does not work.

Yes, getting the same.  I have been saving albums as playlists, as they still work OK, but your workaround is better, simply download a few more albums than usual and select from the Download section.   I found that I could select albums a few times after re-installing the app, but it soon stopped working again.

Having the same issue here (i think). Whenever i do a full reset of Spotify and Android Auto, it allows me to select an album correctly from my recent or library menu, but, when i try to select it for a second time, a loading screen goes to "there's been an error". It has been happenibg since some days ago, i haven't done anythibg unusual... is so frustrating. Any ideas to solve it?

Thank you for your reply, at least i know it's not just me ......

Same here. I've tried everything. Playlists seem to work OK but not albums.

Thank you for your reply, it's definitely not just me then lol

Hallo,

Problem betrifft Android Auto.

Same issue on Google pixel 9 running android 16.0

I'm having this exact issue as well. Can't view/load the songs for any albums in Android Auto when connected to any data connection. Just see the loading spinner for a bit, then "Something went wrong" error. I've tried both mobile data and Wi-Fi.

I can open the album on the phone, and start playing it. Songs show up in the queue on and continue to play, but still cannot load the album songs through the AA interface.

If it is an album that I have downloaded, it only loads once I turn off the data connection, or go into offline mode.

No issues at all with playlists.

I have cleared cache/data, uninstalled/reinstalled both Android Auto and Spotify. Even rolled back a few releases of both but did not seem to help. With a fresh install I can sometimes get one or two albums to load, but then it stops working again...even the albums that successfully loaded minutes earlier.

Very frustrating to say the least.

Thank you for confirming this .

I have the same problem on my Pixel 9 Pro Fold connected to Android Auto on a 2022 Cadillac CT4. Uninstalled and reinstalled the app; no dice. I've had the car for a little over a year now and the phone almost as long, and I've never had an issue until this started happening a couple weeks ago. I can only assume that a recent update to either the Spotify app or Android itself has unexpectedly broken this and it's just a matter of finding and fixing the issue on the next update.

My Question or Issue

Since a week or two weeks, probably last Spotify update March 2, 9.1.28.2252, I can't load albums on Android Auto. 2019 Mazda6. Every time I try to load an album it comes up "Something went wrong". I've uninstalled and reinstalled both Android Auto and Spotify and the issue persists. Loading artists, playlists, audiobooks and all other screens are fine. I just can't load, and therefore play, an album. It spins for a while and then comes up with "Something went wrong".

Android Auto 16.2.660664, Android 12.

My wife's phone with an earlier Spotify version is fine. Hers is Spotify 9.1.24.1739, Android Auto 16.2.660664, Android 13. Same car, no problem.

Same problem here for the past month. Everything is running on the latest version. But songs just don't load under albums or playlists.

I have to use my phone to play anything, which defeats the purpose of having Android Auto.

I have been having the same problem for the last 10 days or so. Cannot select an album from Spotify in Android Auto, just get the message that something is wrong. It's infuriating.

Running Android 16 on Samsung S25. I have cleared cache and data from Spotify, uninstalled and reinstalled apps, restarted phone etc, makes no difference.

Glad to see it's not just me but would love a fix!

I Have the same problem. Redmi Note 12 Pro with android auto uploaded on 23/02/2026

Same problem. Please Fox this. Nothing phone 3a.

Same problem here. Tried everything and created new problems by reinstalling apps.

Hope it gets fixed soon. Glad to know I'm not alone, thank you for sharing.
