Can't delete empty playlist folder in the new Spotify Android update.

Solved!

Can't delete empty playlist folder in the new Spotify Android update.

Here is my desktop Spotify playlist http://i.imgur.com/S5b3E.jpg and here is my mobile Spotify playlist http://i.imgur.com/B6faU.png Now for some reason or another, I've tried EVERTHING imaginable to try and delete that Timbaland playlist in the bottom of my mobile version. When you click on it, it opens and shows theres a T.I. album in their, and that has no music in it and is non deleteable. So I come to the Spotify community for help! Thanks in advance for any possible solutions!

Hey guys, sorry for not picking up on this sooner.

I've had a chance to look at your accounts and I can see that in each case, your playlist structure had become corrupted, as can sometimes happen. So I've attempted a manual repair in each case, but you'll need to let me know if it's been successful or not.

You may need to log out and in again for the changes to take affect - but fingers crossed, it's all better now.

I have exactly the same problem - it's very annoying! it doesn't appear on my PC or on my partner's iphone but appears on the new android app. There doesn't appear to be any way or removing it.

I have the same issue i hope it can be solved!?

I also have the same issue.

Haven't even had Spotify app installed on my phone (Samsung Galaxy S2) since I made a factory reset of it a while ago, so no local files/cache/history should exist.

Decided today to reinstall it and activate Spotify Premium, and when all was set I opened Spotify and there was an old empty playlist folder which doesnt show up on my computer. Can't delete it.

Very strange and equally annoying.

Same problem here. There are two playlist folders showing up on my mobile.

I can create playlists in them but I can't delete them and they don't show up in the desktop client. The playlists created in the folders on my device shows up in the root on my desktop client.

Please implement delete functionality in the Android client.

Isnt there a Spotify official that can respond to our problem? Ignoring us wont make us go away.

It's still irritating to have an empty playlist folder which I cant delete.

Thank you so much. The playlist folder showed up in the desktop client and I was able to delete it there. Now my mobile client is in sync.

Tnx, my playlist on mobile is also cleaned up now. Tnx for picking it up!

Worked for me also, thank you.

It's gone! Thank you so much for your help and time! Cheers!

I have a selection of playlists I have tried to delete from my android app and they constantly reappear and have to be redeleted. What can I do to solve this problem? The playlists also have to redownload all the tracks every time I go to reuse the app after closing it. Any help would be appreciated.

Could you let me know which playlists, and I'll delete them for you.

It seems to have worked,

Thanks very much!

Hey there 🙂

I got two playlists named "Z":

  • One contains 5 playlists. I want to keep it.
  • One contains 0 playlists and 1 folder. I want to delete it.

Is it possible to delete the second playlist named "Z"? 🙂

Cheers!
