Disable Ford Applink with spotify

Solved!

Disable Ford Applink with spotify

Is there anyway to disable spotify from having my Microsoft Sync in my Ford from being solely controlled through the car? It's entirely bothersome to try and navigate through my car to get to a different artist or playlist when I could just do it easily through my phone.

On my end, my mustang has no nav, and I cannot find any way to disable Sync from completely controlling my phone's spotify app. All it shows is the spotify logo with an arrow to a Ford logo. Super annoying.

I don't know who uptodown is, life has taught us not to install software from strangers..right?

The site is clean, I've been using my old version of Spotify all day problem free.

I too have used up to down and my app has worked perfectly for the past couple days

I hate that this stupid update takes my phone hostage preventing me from using it completely. Even in my house I opened the app 5 times before the ford symbol went away. Ive been trying to decide between Spotify which iven been on for years and google play music, so guess whicjh way im leaning now. Terrible update making my hour commute misserable.

Yeah, this is **bleep**. You aren't my Dad riding in the passenger seat when I was 16 learning how to drive. Change it back because it is no way safer to navigate a clunky SYNC UI on a 4 inch screen.

I have found if you force stop spotify once the app link screen is showing and then reopen, you have full and normal control over spotify until you disconnect from sync.

You must force stop though, by opening the app manager / running apps section

Alternatively Google Play Music works great! 3 month trial in use now.

That does not work for me.

Are you sure?

Trying searching for a new artist after you do that. I'll bet it brings back the AppLink logo. I'm on a Galaxy S5 with latest release (Marshmellow I believe).

I just started my free trial with google music. I'm going to allow a company to do this to me. I will use my phone and a music player how I want to use it... I'm very disappointed with spotify. This makes zero practical sense. They told me over twitter it's for safety reasons... I'll tell u now that trying to change it thru the radio is way way way more dangerous. Instead of being in full color on my phone which is mounted on my windshield in a perfect location to not take my eyes too far from the road, just like a GPS, I now have to look far away from the rd and figure out what song I want with no over all view of my songs. I can only view songs 1 by 1 thru fords app... so stupid and u guys will feel the wrath of the consumer.

Totally works for me. Must be force stop though. See attachment

Although now I have downgraded cause I'm sick of doing it

Does not work for me. I tried this multiple times. As soon as I search for a new artist it goes over to AppLink.

@Spotify, do you intend to fix this? I'd like to hear an official statement from support.

Also leave negative feedback on the App Stores. They might do something if the ratings go down a lot. Seems a lot of people are leaving bad feedback which is good as it hurts them.

Oh yeah good point "hey guys, let's change our entire gui to a 3x3 mono color display with thirty buttons, made by Ford and programed by microsoft, in which 26 buttons are 'not available for Bluetooth device. And the others are play/stop, shuffle, and skip'"

The moderators on this community board are pretty useless. They gave a generic response without even reading what the problem was. I have private messaged him with no response from him (Chris). They continue to ignore these 12 pages of complaints.

We need to continue the tweets to @SpotifyCares @Spotify so they don't brush this under the rug. I'd say let's all jump ship but some of us have invested a good amount of time making our playlists so I would like them to fix this instead.

I don't think they are going to respond in here so I'll just copy/paste what they told me from twitter, just so you all know they are aware.

I have at least figured out how to access my playlists. But the reason I use spotify is the ability to listen to something that might not be in a playlist. Spotify categories are for the most part out of my listening tastes. I have no way to search artists with my terrible ford interface. It's really made spotify like my iPod. I might as well go back that.

Disgraceful lack of support and material responses from Spotify on this one. It would be so easy for them to roll back this change to make everyone happy, then just re-introduce as an optional feature rather than force it upon us. Instead it seems they'd rather lose everyone just because the product managers think they know what people want.

If it's not fixed before my next payment I'll be switching to Google Play Music. Playlists can be exported from Spotify to Google Play so no problem there. I'm sure many people aren't even as patient as me and have cancelled already.

If enough people cancel this month and affect their stats the management higher up will realise what a blunder this was, it could be the only thing which makes them prioritise a fix for this.

Good bye Spotify, deal breaker for me, so dumb....

If you can export playlists from Spotify to Google Play that makes the decision that much easier.

I started google play music today and so far I really like it. Spotify might have forced me into finding a better service.

Google play is the one i was leaning toward too.  Rhapsody seems like a decent choice as well.

Hows the mobile version of the google play app?  Desktop version too?  Have you checked them both out yet?
