Microphone/speech search missing on android auto

My Question or Issue

I recently had to factory reset my phone and now when I go to search on android auto it only brings up the keyboard and does not have the little microphone to start voice searching. The app has microphone permissions, and my google assistant is set up just fine on google maps through android auto. Is there some sort of setting that needs to be changed on the phone or the app?

I fixed the issue by updating my google app and making sure that the "hey google" and all voice recognition features were turned on. This thread can be locked

Just to make sure we're on the same page, is it directly within the Spotify app that the option doesn't appear? Does it appear when you're not using Android Auto?

If possible, it would be great if you could send us a video or photo showing how things look from your end, so that we can get a better view of what you're experiencing.

I fixed the issue by updating all my google apps and disabling/reenabling the hey google and assistant features. After all that, I got the microphone app back on the android auto spotify and can voice to text search now

This worked for me. Voice search stopped working a few weeks ago when Android updated on my Samsung S24. I tried all of the fixes I could find and nothing worked. If I typed the search it worked, if I used voice it did not. Today I changed from Gemini back to Android Assistant and everything is working again. The setting is under Google in settings.
