Podcast episodes start over from the beginning on Android

We’ve received reports that podcast episodes lose their listening progress and are starting over from the beginning. This is happening only on Android, when the following criteria are met:

• the episode is started from a playlist - be it a personal one or Your Episodes;
• the small white "Play" button on the right is used. When tapping on the episode title and using the big green "Play" button instead, the app remembers the progress and episodes continue as normal.

Same situation. Same version (9.0.94.274). Pixel 7.

To restate (within last week or so) podcasts show the progress/minutes remaining, but when selected will start from start. Specifically occurs when moving between podcasts (stopping and starting the same podcast seems to work fine).

This seems to be a good work around. Don't click play directly from the Your Episodes playlist. Click on the episode title to open the podcast's page for the episode, then click play. This resumes the episode properly for me and it keeps the Your Episodes queue going.

My Question or Issue

When coming back to listen to podcasts, the app often hasn't saved the position I was in in the episode, for example, if I have listened to half an episode and then listen to the 3/4 point, stop, come back the next day it will be at the halfway point but the 3/4 point. Effectively makes the app useless for podcasts. 

I think I'm going to stop my premium and move elsewhere as this is just the worst of many issues. Just shows the contempt Spotify has for Android users

Same issue for me. Tried everything chat gpt has advised and still keeps happening.
