My Question or Issue
The Spotify app for Android TV is not working. Songs play for 8 seconds without sound and then skip to the next song, again without sound. Other apps on the TV work fine. I cleared the cache, uninstalled the app, reinstalled it, and rebooted the TV, but nothing worked.
2-3 weeks going on now, is there anything found on this issue?
EDIT: tested just now with phone's hotspot (5G mobile network), and the issue was a bit less aggressive, so now it didn't flicker on screen and the songs were playing, BUT no sound.
Switched back to home wi-fi, same agressive flicker and no sound.
Samsung TV, Tizen, phone was Oneplus Nord 3 5G hotspot
Temporary fix is to force close spotify, then reset network settings on the TV and then connecting to the same wifi again. That fixes it, but the problem persists once you turn the tv off and back on again.

This exact same problem started for me yesterday and I tried everything op said as well. Only way I can get it to work is by connecting my TV to my phone's hotspot, but that's not really convenient when I only have to do it because of spotify..

I have the same issue with my Samsung smart tv Crystal UHD 75 series, only spotify shows this problem, any other app does it. Songs play without sound, and skip randomly through 6 or 7 seconds after start. I had have restart the Samet hub, had have restart the tv, I erased the caché, but It didn't work

I can kinda play music using Google Cast. It has a ~15 sec lag starting every song, odd pauses from time to time and occationally stops completely and drops the connection so I need to connect to the TV again from the remote device. Pause/play and volume control works normally.
Don't be fools guys, this problem is a couple of years old. You can find similar conversations elsewhere on the internet. Never with a solid solution. Spotify doesn't know how to solve it or even doesn't want to because of whatever reasons. I believe that unstable internet connection is the cause and Spotify app, more precise its part dhat is responsible for streaming on Android TV is so fragile that it is crushed every time the internet connection is not perfectly stable. No other Android app behave in similar manner and Spotify coders should learn from other developers. If they would want to... They will just let this topic fade away like many times before. Sad but true!
If this is true the subs go down on the premium and then it's too late to update the code and apps, no one wants to use crappy apps anywhere imo.
We have 2 Samsung tv’s: a new CU7000 and a few months older CU8000. Same issue on both. App has worked correctly on 8000 but doesn’t anymore. 7000 purchased maybe 3 weeks ago app has never worked correctly on it. Just skips through songs without playing them.
Now Spotify works for me and the TV, the only difference from previous is that I removed the option from router to use 5GHz and 2.4 Ghz Wi-Fi to only use 2.4 GHz network.
My Android TV had the same problem, but it was resolved when I changed the network connection from a LAN cable to Wi-Fi.
I don't know why it had an effect on this problem.
Same thing since May-ish.
