The new app plays 1 and a half songs then the play queue gets wiped out and I'm left with a blank screen.  I have to tap the X in the upper left corner and start the playlist again.  Sometimes it will continue to play on the 3rd or 4th attempt.  But it happens again on the next playlist.

The latest Android app is exhibiting high 3G data usage (approx 50Mb per day) even when it isn't used at all and no streaming takes place.

Quite a number of  people have reported this issue in the following thread:

Yay. Finally some developer (?) attention in the Android forum.

The step numbering is wrong at step 8 and 11 - need to point to the next step.

And the point about searching should be in bold 48pt 🙂 (even just scanning down the posts on the front page is enough most of the time)

Cheers!

Cannot stop app draining all battery downloading updated playlists. Cannot quit app, no button for it. Only way is an app killer or disabling 3G sync/downloading.

A more detailed description, using numbered steps

1. I set playlists to sync/download

2. I quit the application by pressing "back" button, because no "Quit" button exists anymore

3. Spotify keeps running on background until battery is dead.

What I expected to happen

I would expect to be able to quit an application when I want. I would expect to choose whether to continue downloading on background (able to charge phone if tracks plenty) or not (if I am on the  go and cannot risk my phone dying).

What actually happened

Phone died, battery drained.

2. I redownloaded the playlist on my phone, using wifi, doesn't show up on the pc client anymore

3. I redownloaded it again, dieing a little inside everytime by the thought that I might not have the music on my work tonight...

What I expected to happen

That the offline playlist would actually be OFFLINE useable...., yes I do NOT have interwebs at my work, not even mobile network...

What actually happened

Playlist was listed as offline, it would play right, but after leaving it alone for a while, it was gone again....

I have the exact same issue. Not been using Spotify on my phone today, but it used up 50Mb of my 3G data usage, although the download on 3G setting is set to 'Off'. This issue was already there with the preview and looks like it's still in the official release.

Actually, yes, I got it to work now. I had tried to do that earlier today, but then it didn't solve itself, yet now it did.
Thanks!

The new / latest vesion does not appear to have a 'log out of spotify ' option.  I have to turn my android phone off to prevent other devices being in Spotify pause mode.

Description

When skipping/browsing through songs (by swiping over the album pictures) the app will start playing a different song than the one I selected (usually the previous one or the next one).

A more detailed description, using numbered steps

1. I often browse / skip through songs (not sure what the correct English word would be, but I mean: swiping over the album picture to the next song). I often to this at a rather fast pace with shuffle on, until I find a song I like to play now.

2. When I see a song I like and I stop swiping it won't start playing that song, but a different one (usually the previous or the next one).

3. Which means I have to swipe one song back or forward to actually start listening to that song... it could also happen though that it then again starts playing a different song.

(May sound like a minor problem, but for me it is rather annoying, as this is usally the way I like to listen to music, and it makes it very annoying to make the app start playing the song I want to hear)

What I expected to happen

Start playing the song I selected. (duh 🙂 )

What actually happened

It starts playing a different song
