Yamaha AV Receiver and Android how does it work

Hello, I use an apperently  a spotify enabled yamaha receiver. I need help how to get spotify run at this AV receiver.

I use no apple devices only android phones tabs etc.

ok, my daughter has an amazon firestick, is that the same as the firetv you referenced? 

I thought I read some people had been using airplay to do it, perhaps I was mistaken

Fire stick and firetv is in principle the same thing

If u are talking about streaming then airplay works but that is apple.

If android you have to use a cable, root your phone or use an intermediate
device such as Chromecast plugged into spare hdmi input.

Rooting phone is waste of time as quality wasn't as good as true apple
airplay device
