My Question or Issue

I hate podcasts. Sorry, but that's not me, it's just not my cup of thee.

Every time I open the app or the program on Windows 10 I get right in my face Shows to try, podcast to try and what not.

A moment ago it showed me political podcasts.

I just have Spotify to play music I like and not for podcasts.

The problem I am experiencing is that it gives me the *creeps* looking and seeing some of those covers. And that happens every time I open Spotify, either on my iPad or on my iPhone or just at my computer.

Is there a way to disable all podcast or at least not make them show on the front of the app or program?

Thank you.

Spotify should add a toggle to enable/disable podcast content. So many of us do not listen to them, it is unreasonable that they should be shoved down our throat. There is likely a financial reason for this pushiness, but it is obnoxious and a good reason to cancel subscription and change to another streaming service, such as apple music, amazon music, tidal.

That’s what I did. Apple Music.

Seriously what the **bleep** spotify, i open the app and the first thing that pops is a dude pouring oil in a pair of naked asses and theres nothing i can do to take it out of my homescreen? i dont even listen to podcasts, why is that tab even there, its a paid service how is it posible that i cant even customize my homescreen, this is a clickbait ad for something i dont even want, right in my face, every time i get on the app.

what the hell spotify.png

finally an actual solution

For me, this is the reason why I stoped using spotify (and canceled my premium subscription).

Live, love, laugh and listen to music 🙂

Switched from Yandex.Music just not to see this things. But here I am, looking at weird sexualized banners taking 1/3 of screen space. May be Spotify knows me better than I am?

Yes. Some pictures are scary.

yeah same here, i'm here to listen the music, not the silly podcast, i'm ok with podcast, but i hate when spotify system keep recommend the podcast, i'm kinda hoping spotify had this Disable/Hidden feature in the future.

Totally agree, why do I pay money to explain to my granny (who just asked to listen for some Christmas songs) what the **bleep** is the "Guys, we f**ed" on my home page?

Podcasts pollute the search, they have to go

There has recently been a lot of discussion about a particular podcast and I won't weigh onto that one here, but one solution might be to give people the option of not seeing podcasts at all. Just like I can filter out explicit tracks if I wish to, I'd like the option of not seeing any podcasts. People can seek them out if they wish.

Hey there @alex22p22,

In this case we suggest that you head over to the ideas that's provided above.

Please remove podcasts from my homepage I don’t like it ..

Utterly nonsense that I have to be scared to open this app at the office because of the utmost ridiculous images showing up on that podcast banner. In addition to me not even listening to podcasts. I pay for premium for myself and my partner and for what??

let me remove podcasts!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree, I always get some weird and disturbing podcasts when the only podcast I listen to is a podcast about the news, why can't I disable those disturbing podcasts, lately I keep getting podcasts with a disturbing images about someone laughing at his dead sister or at list that what the name and image let me to believe, why I must feel anxious every time I open the app im public when all I want is to relax with some music and have no option to hide disable or at least block them

Podcasts ruin my groove. They are often tasteless. Please give me the option to disable them.

Dear Spotify:

I know your official stance is "we won't give paying customers what they want ever under any circumstance" but I'd like you to reconsider.

Like many of your customers I already pay for youtube premium. They are one electron app away from me leaving Spotify forever. The reason (in my case) is podcasts and the lack of a dislike button on songs I don't ever want to hear again.

Whatever metrics you think you're optimizing by pestering users is not worth the harder to track metrics like "why are users annoyed with our brand". Use your thinky thinky parts, SLT.
