My Question or Issue

The Spotify app window on macOS automatically hides after a certain amount of time. 

  1. Open Spotify
  2. Play a song
  3. Spotify window is shown and remains open (see first image)
  4. I move to another desktop space on macOS
  5. After a certain amount the spotify window automatically hides (see second image)
  6. I go back to the desktop space
  7. Open Spotify window again

While this isn't a major inconvenience, it is strange behavior. I have experienced it with multiple macOS and Spotify versions. Has anyone else experienced the same behavior and knows how to fix it?

Thanks for reaching out. Could you please provide us the following:

  • When did this start happening? Did it coincide with a Spotify or MacOS update?
  • Does it matter what activities you do on the other desktop space for this to occur? Does it still happen if you just switch and then do nothing else?
  • Have you been able to see the exact moment it happens? If so, what occurred exactly?
  • It's worth performing a full clean reinstall if you haven't thus far. This can help with a multitude of issues and it may solve this too. Let us know if it helps.
