My Question or Issue
I am experiencing an issue where, if the client is set to offline mode, tracks that are stored locally on my computer will become faded out and unplayable in any playlists they have been added to.
Despite this, the same files are playable from the "Local Files" section of "Your Library"
It seems to bug caused by the client trying to treat the local files like Spotify tracks, marking them as unavailable due to them not being "Downloaded" and unable to be streamed due to the lack of internet.
I have contacted support, but they did not seem to understand the issue, recommending that I "Download" the tracks by toggling the download switch on the playlists they're in. I feel this is absurd as the files are already stored locally and the playlists are downloaded anyway.
I have done a clean install of Spotify and this has not corrected the issue.
Another person in chat has experienced this issue: https://community.spotify.com/t5/Chat/Local-files-won-t-play-in-offline-mode/m-p/5214870/highlight/t...

Note: Issue was also present on a different computer, with an additional oddity: the local files DID actually "Download" with the streamable tracks, adopting the little downwards pointing arrow, and Spotify deigned to play them.
Also I have used the Live Chat support window three times, communicating for about two hours total, entered my email address when prompted at the end of each session, and I have NOT received transcripts for any of them.
I also have this issue on android.
My local files are saved on my phone, not on my computer.
If I lose internet connection my local songs become unplayable, I can't play them, or add them to a queue, and if I play a playlist containing them they won't be included in the playlist, even if I regain internet connection.
Blackberry key2 and spotify version 8.8.96.364.

Hey @senrabnaneek,
Thank you for joining the conversation and for the shared info.
As this issue could be caused by some damaged cache stored on your device, and in case you haven't done it before, we'd recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app by following the steps in this article.
If the issue persists, would you mind including in your next response the exact OS version you're currently running? Also, it would be great if you could record a short video where we can take a better look at the behavior you're describing. You can attach it to your next response by using the Insert Video option in the post editor. You can also upload it to YouTube or Google Drive and share the link with us (make sure the video has the permissions for anyone to watch it).
We'll be on the lookout.
I've been trying to figure out a solution, because I would constantly lose the same files on a playlist created from downloaded Local Files. From the previous observations listed in this thread, I was seeing that they were still available in the Local Files section of my Spotify app on my Android, but they would be missing on the playlists they'd be added to.
Solution that worked for me so far:
I noticed that in the Local Files section after I downloaded the songs from the playlist, that there were duplicates of songs that had multiple artists associated with the mp3 files. What ended up working for me was I edited the mp3's on the PC to adjust for only 1 artist, followed steps to re-add the files to my phone through downloading, and those duplicates did not come back. I'm assuming that Spotify was struggling reading the multiple artists on an mp3 that was now stored locally after downloading and was saying that they were not available, even though they were now on my phone after downloading.
