Problem with shared playlists

Problem with shared playlists

How can a user who receives a shared playlist by email add that playlist to their own playlists to listen inside the spotify app?

I share playlists by email with non facebook spotify premium friends.

easy as per the guide

When they receive the email it is of the form:

http://open.spotify.com/user/username/playlist/5Q8t6R2FRxHL01sGZKCj03

So clicking the link brings it up in a player inside the browser - listening is easy BUT it is not inside the Spotify App.

I know I can follow the user in spotify by searching for their username with 'spotify:user:username' but while related this does not help if the playlist in question has not been made public.  I'm looking for an option to  "Add this playlist to my playlists"?

Thanks for your help

Cheers

In both the web player and the desktop client you can follow a playlist by right-clicking on the playlist name and selecting "follow". Also there is a setting in the web player options to divert all "open.spotify" links to the desktop client.

Thanks. That seems so obvious now!
I found on the iphone that I needed to play the playlist before having access to the follow option.
