The title summerises the experience I have the past week, where out of nowhere I wasn't able to play any music. Then when I tried to do a clean reinstall of Spotify, I see that my playlists are 'completely empty', and I couldn't play any music from my daily mixes nor any playlist that I didn't own. Strangely whenever I play a track off my Macbook Pro it worked perfectly, opposed to my Windows desktop. More strangely I could control my Macbook Pro from my desktop on Spotify, changing tracks, playlists etc. But I couldn't do it vice versa.

This a known bug with the desktop app and Spotify is investigating the issue. There is a workaround which seems to be working for some users. Can you try the following steps:
