Spotify open in full screen - cannot access taskbar anymore - windows 7

Solved!

Spotify open in full screen - cannot access taskbar anymore - windows 7

I have Spotify open and maximised on my computer. However, since the upgrade, I can't access the Windows taskbar from an open and maximised Spotify window (i.e. Spotify is open, I move my mouse down to the bottom of the screen to bring up the taskbar and switch to another currently running programme... and nothing happens).

This is not a problem with my operating system, as this works exactly as it should when I have any other programme open. But if Spotify is the open, maximised window, I have to press the Windows start button to bring up the toolbar. I can't see anything about this in the settings/preferences.

Does anybody have a solution to this? It's really annoying when moving between different windows.

Thank you a lot!!!!

Worked for me.

I use Linux Mint 18 - Cinammon 64 bits

Excellent, thanks

In ubuntu you can reset the windows preferences by deleting the two items below. you will have to log back into spofiy after removing the files.

rm ~/.config/spotify/prefs ~/.config/spotify/window_position.prefs

Open spotify. the problem should be fixed now. log back in.

I assume you are talking about Linux.

~/.config is not a file, but a directory. Directories starting with a dot (".") are usually hidden, pressing Ctrl + H will make them show up in file explorers like Nautilus.

Is there a fix for this on Windows 10? I've tried the solution but can't find the file at all.

have no idea how to do that.  where would i go to remove whatever you said remove?

So here I am again to thank you for the solution!!!

Before it worked on Linux Mint and now I can guarantee(?) that this tutorial works on Linux Deepin as well!!!

You don't need to delete ~/.config/spotify/prefs (if you do delete it then you'll have to reset login details, which is a bother).

Instead, just remove the lines referring to window position.

Solved my problem like a charm
Fedora 27 using Negativo17.org repository

It seems the window prefs file doesn't have an effect on modern versions of Spotify for Linux. Instead, in ~/.config/spotify/prefs, remove all lines referencing app.window.

Thanks this work for me on Linux Mint. though i had to delete the prefs file also in order to fix it

If you used flatpak to install spotify the location of the config file is: /home/"personal folder"/.var/app/com.spotify.Client/config/spotify

And if you're running Spotify as a snap package, the config file will be /home/<user>/snap/spotify/current/.config/spotify/prefs
