My Question or Issue

When I put my PC into energy saving mode and then restart it, I can no longer start the playlist I was listening to before. I have to select the playlist I want to listen to again. This can be very annoying because I hear songs twice.

Hi there @Simagdo

Thanks for reaching out. Could you please provide us the following:

  • Is this on all devices or only on this Windows PC?
  • The exact Spotify Version you use.
  • When did this start happening?
  • Screenshots or a video of the behaviour

With this information, we’d be happy to investigate.

Keep us posted.

Hi,

  • I have this Problem only on my Windows PC
  • Spotify für Windows
    1.2.5.1006.g22820f93
  • The Problem started around 2 Months ago
  • The only Problem i get is that i'm Offline and therefore cannot Play Music right now.

Hey @Simagdo,

Thanks for getting back to us and for providing the requested information.

We've noticed that you're not using the latest version of our Spotify for Windows App. Would you mind updating your Desktop App with the steps here and test if you'll experience the same?

It is also worth trying to reproduce the issue with a different account and share the results with us. If a family member has a Spotify account, it could be great if you ask them to log in on your device to see if the app behaves the same way.

Let us know how it goes.

Hey,

i tested the new Version over the last few Days and that's why I haven't answered earlier.

The Problem still exists. I also tried another Account from a Friend and with this Account, I also get the same Problem.

Yours

Simon

I checked Spotify this Evening again after waking up my PC and saw this Message appear when continuing the Playlist I heard before:

Simagdo_0-1678387514146.png

Translation:

Spotify cannot play this at this time. If the file is on your computer, you can import it.

Hey @Simagdo,

As a next step, we'd suggest checking your Windows hosts file using this guide.

Let us know if that helps.

Hi there @Simagdo

Thanks for your reply.

It's possible that while using the energy saving mode, the connection of the Spotify app is interrupted, so that's why you need to restart it. Hopefully, you'll see this behavior get improved but we can't guarantee when or if this will be solved. We suggest that you keep the app updated to the latest version to get any fixes.

Regarding the second issue you mentioned, we'd recommend taking a look at this FAQ.

Cheers!
