Why doesn't Spotify FIX the Windows 8 player??

Windows 8 has now been around for years. Spotify has done many upgrades including it's excellent intrerface upgrade earlier this year. And still Spotify fails at Windows 8!!! Spotify audio output still stops as soon as power saving switches off the monitor. I cannot believe they are ignoring this issue! But that just seems to be the case. WHY?! My machine is a bog standard HP Omni 27, a common enough all-in-one, And there are many other systems where this problem is reported. So it is an ongoing well-known problem. It is infuriating. Why does Spotify willfully ignore us users?
