Why was the queue moved to the right instead of the center?

Solved!

Why was the queue moved to the right instead of the center?

My playlist queue used to be in the center column on the desktop app. Now it has moved to the right column and I really hate it there. How do I move it back to the center?
THIS IS NOT, IN ANY WAY, "SOLVED".

Here's the deal. Just my theory, but it makes sense. Follow the money, always follow the money. If Spotify p!sses off their highest usage customers and they leave, then they are left with the lowest usage ones. Less money for artists, more money for Spotify. This will never get fixed. As Adrian Belew said, "Don't hold your breath, 'cause it'll make you blue."

What? They've destroyed the search feature? What happened?

I haven't seen this mentioned. On top of all else, the queue no longer shows the album name. So what, do i click on the three dots and hunt for "go to album" for each song? Or do I guess from the tiny little album cover? Unbelievable.

I'm not enjoying this change at all. Where is the Shuffle button now?!?

This queue change is a disaster for radio stations that use Spotify.  Not being able to tell album names, not being able to see the length of the songs coming up, not being able to view the artist info at the same time as looking at the queue... I could go on and on.  I played with the queue, and I see no usefulness to it - other than it is smaller than before.  This is no feature improvement - it is a feature reduction, and I cannot see any good reason for it.  If you don't want to view the queue, you don't have to.  And you can see everything else.  If you want to see the queue, you can click over to it.  If you don't, you click back.  But if you have a queue, make it a full fledged queue!

Maybe it was the point of making this change - so people don't use Spotify for radio stations...

Now they killed play queue in web player too.

I absolutely hate the new queue. It isn't anywhere near as useful as the queue that we used to have. I can't see at a glance which songs I've liked, nor do I have a checkmark that I can quickly use to add a song that was just played. Now, I have to use a menu which makes it 2 clicks instead of one. I guess that we can thank the interface team for making it worse.

Literally my first visit to the forums as well. Been a subscriber for years and this is the first time I have actively hated a change that has been made. Please revert this disaster.

The Top Answer Idea has been buried in the ideas section, not showing up even as "popular" to me even with 802 likes, which is almost 300 more than the next most liked one. After 2 months, no response. Nothing. To me it seems painfully obvious that Spotify doesn't give a single F about changing this. So they can keep their trash and swim in it for all I care. I'll just help them a little by advocating in my friend groups to not pay for this product and use anything but premium Spotify for music. Spotify does not deserve any money for this "service" anymore in my book, as they have gone the route of utterly disrespecting their userbase. I have found multiple better options in these 2 months. Good riddance. kthxbye

Update: No response or update in sight. Canceled subscriptions. Already convinced a few friends to do the same. Spotify can go lick their neighbors asphalt. Good riddance.

Download spicetify and click on your profile image.

Select "Experimental features"

Uncheck "Enable queue on right panel"

Wow, great advice. Just installed spicetify, and the Spotify app suddenly becomes much more customizable!!

Exactly!  Thank you all!

I used to be able to show my Play Queue at "full width" in the Desktop player window.

Now, the Play Queue list is shown in a narrow panel squished in to the right hand side of the Desktop window. A center panel that replicates the "Home" view now dominates the Desktop App even when the Play Queue is showing.

How can I let the Play Queue panel widen out to a more useful width?

I regretfully clicked on the AI dj and regretted it.

My screenshot is attached

  1. Go to "Custom order" instead of "Recents".
  2. Create a Folder named "Junk" where you can.
  3. Drag "DJ" into your Folder "Junk".
  4. Then drag your Folder "Junk" just above the very end of all of your playlists and close it-- so that you won't accidentally fall into that deadly trap of clicking on "DJ" ever again in your happy listening to all your music on Spotify-- Never ever again!

I've seen "Custom order" but not anymore. I'm using the Linux snap so maybe that's why the queue only moved when I clicked on the damned aidj which is back again like a virus. I really wish I could follow your instructions but I don't watch Spotify while listening. I can't drag aidj anywhere nor have my queue back in the middle. Karaoke mode is still in the middle so this has been done intentionally.

wth is this change?? You need to fire whoever came with this idea, even if it's the CEO. This is horrible!!!!

I started spotify yesterday evening and saw the playlist icon was back but was very disappointed that all it did was hide the queue on the right and show "now playing view"
