Window draging breaks when window is too small

Window draging breaks when window is too small

Operating System

Windows 11

My Question or Issue

See attached video. When making the Spotify window small enough to collapse the search widget, it still blocks any mouse dragging. As a consequence you cannot drag the window of the application itself.

Hi there @ChrisVanRun,

Could you let us know the exact version of Spotify you're running? If you haven't already, try disabling/enabling Hardware acceleration from the app's settings to see if that does the trick. It's also worth performing a clean reinstall by following the steps here.

Something else you can check is if changing the screen resolution has any effect on this.

Let us know how it goes! Cheers 🤘

Hej hej!

The exact version is Spotify for Windows (64 bit) 1.2.33.1039.g8ddb5918.

I am pretty confident it's the search widget. It adjusts size with the
changing window width until it reaches a threshold and then it becomes a
togglable area. When untoggled the area is black, suggesting the window can
be dragged there using the cursor. This is quite a common design for window
headers.

Playing around a bit more with it, I noticed there is a small band of
pixels just below the window top that still allows for dragging the window.
Overall it's quite inconsistent on where you can and where you cannot drag
the window.

Cheers,
Chris
