Why are random playlists being saved to my library???

Solved!! Sidewinder X4 Media keys don't work (unless windows media player is opened)

How do I fix this? If I hit play/pause, it opens WMP, and then if I press it again, spotify actually responds. If I close WMP it stops responding. I didn't have this problem until I reinstalled my OS earlier this year. What gives?
