[All Platforms] Customize Start Screen

This is not a new idea, but I haven't found any practical reply to it, so I think it needs to be repeated. I completely agree with Rennestein (screen capture below), we need to stop seeing irrelevant suggestions because it is annoying. Why can't it be possible to decide what we first see when we open Spotify on any device? (playlists, recently played, artists we're following, etc), and enjoy better our Spotify experience?
Please Spotify, let us have the home screen as we'd like. :)) Thank you!

Hey folks,

We appreciate you sharing your feedback on the Community and showing your support to this idea.

We're setting this idea to 'Not Right Now', as this isn't something we have any immediate plans to implement. If we do have any new info to share, rest assured we'll check back in here with a new status.

Update from the 23rd of Feb 2023:

A new feature was recently introduced in the mobile app which you may find interesting as it allows users to remove content recommendations from the subfeeds (Music and Podcasts & Shows) of their Home screen, thus expanding upon the current customization options and offering a improved, more personalized experience. You can find more info about it in the Status update here.

Thanks.

I, too, am sick and tired of seeing the same podcasts recommended over and over to me that I have no interest in. Honestly I'd like to be free of recommendations in general unless I ask for them, but I know *that* is a truly radical request. Just let me get people with punchable faces that I've never listened to and will never listen to off of my home screen. I get that your advertising data has labeled me a certain way, but it's actually a pressure to leave your platform, not a draw to stay on it.

I'd like this, I think podcast and audiobook recommendations should be able to be hidden. Users should have more options to tailor their experience considering it's a paid service.

I think Spotify should allow its users to remove Spotify suggestions from their app's homepage.

I have PTSD and I keep getting suggestions that set my symptoms off, especially content with fascist and hateful messages. I'm sure I am not the only Spotify user who would like to be able to remove Spotify-suggested audiobooks and music that cause them mental and physical distress.

I hope Spotify will seriously consider this course of action for all of its users who have experienced violence and hate who would rather not see content that causes them pain on their homepage.

Thank you.

I dont understand why we have to vote for such a simple feature. This morning when I opened spotify, there was an innapropriote podcast at the top of my home screen. It have never even listened to a single podcast but your pushing them to me and it is annoying me. Why isn't there a simple option to just remove it from the home screen

I think there needs to be some customisation options on the tiles at the top of the home page to be able to delete and pin certain playlists/albums/podcasts. I think it'd be great to be able to long press these tiles and see those options in the menu.

I understand they are to help us jump back in and listen to what we've previously listened to but sometimes these are irrelevant. For example, if I've tried out a podcast or a playlist, listened to a minute or so and I didn't like it, I wouldn't want those to appear there. Also, if I've listened to a guilty pleasure or maybe an audiobook which is a sensitive and personal topic (i.e. self help, health, mental health), I might not want this to be at the top on these tiles in case a friend or family members sees this on my device.

On some occasions I'd also like to be able to keep things there that I'm loving and want to find easily. So having an option to pin some tiles would be great.

Thank you 😊

Absolutely.
The lack of customization on Spotify is a real problem. They have a lot of content that is sensitive that they then go out of their way to make it impossible to hide

Joan what is one of your guilty pleasures? I'll show you mine if you show
me yours 🙂

I recently had a friend send me a podcast and it is something that I just dislike seeing one my recently played/ home screen and can find no way to remove it from being there. I would highly appreciate a way to get rid of it outright

Unbelievable that this date back to 2018 and not yet implemented.

I'm not upset about the price increase due to audiobooks. What I am upset about is the fact that I can't seem to get Spotify to stop "recommending" a audiobook for MEN about how to bring a female to orgasm. EVERY. TIME. I. OPEN. SPOTIFY. I am hetero women, I'm not interest in how to give a woman an orgasm. I use Spotify for music. I don't want to see a book cover a this women in the middle of cumming every time I want to play my music. Oh, and will you look at that, I'm inellegible for the basic plan. Just give us an option to hide the recommendations or at least block suggestions that are offensive to us? If you hadn't shoved that stupid seduction guide on me I wouldn't have even noticed this change. Make it GO AWAY. PLEASE.
