[All Platforms] Customize Start Screen

This is not a new idea, but I haven't found any practical reply to it, so I think it needs to be repeated. I completely agree with Rennestein (screen capture below), we need to stop seeing irrelevant suggestions because it is annoying. Why can't it be possible to decide what we first see when we open Spotify on any device? (playlists, recently played, artists we're following, etc), and enjoy better our Spotify experience?
Please Spotify, let us have the home screen as we'd like. :)) Thank you!

Hey folks,

We appreciate you sharing your feedback on the Community and showing your support to this idea.

We're setting this idea to 'Not Right Now', as this isn't something we have any immediate plans to implement. If we do have any new info to share, rest assured we'll check back in here with a new status.

Update from the 23rd of Feb 2023:

A new feature was recently introduced in the mobile app which you may find interesting as it allows users to remove content recommendations from the subfeeds (Music and Podcasts & Shows) of their Home screen, thus expanding upon the current customization options and offering a improved, more personalized experience. You can find more info about it in the Status update here.

Thanks.

If someone has some famous Redditor who also care about this issue maybe it's time to start a company to help Spotify open their ears and listen their customers.

Can anyone recommend another service? I listen to indie music and create playlists, don’t need much more than that

JUST BECAUSE OTHER PEOPLE THAT LISTEN TO WHAT I LISTEN TO LISTEN TO SOMETHING ELSE DOESN'T MEAN I WANT TO BE REMINDED OF IT CONSTANTLY FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR.

Spotify has been shoving a podcast with extremely upsetting, graphic, inappropriate thumbnails and episode titles in my face for two months now. I've never clicked on it, searched for it or anything like it, or interacted with it in any way. I can't even report it. I can only guess that I must be in a dark-sided Venn-diagram of people that I have no desire to let into my "home". It makes me ashamed to share my app with anyone, cringe whenever I open Spotify for any reason, and it's not what I asked for at all.

When I contacted support, they were amicable, but ultimately gave me the equivalent of "🤷‍♀️" and said maybe it'll go away. Well, it hasn't. I wouldn't mind it if the HOME page was more like a HOME that I could curate and, the BAZAAR OF OTHER PEOPLE'S BULLSH*T was on the next page. It can still be there, just on the next page. Please give us some peace. This is one of the top requests ever from paying customers. Spotify is blatantly ignoring it, but they don't have to forever. YOU DON'T HAVE TO IGNORE IT.

I have been a vocal advocate for Spotify for years, and there is still a lot I believe they're the best at. Even so, I'm sick of the 'suggestions' and 'notifications' being absolutely unavoidable. I signed up for the Apple Music trial today, and I'm prepared to kick my wife off our Duo plan. It's not worth the frustration anymore.

Also, I've listened to ONE Coldplay song, ever, a handful of times at the most, over 7 years. The fact that they've been  appearing in my Release Radar every week for the last six months at least is just making me resent Coldplay out of pure spite.

Turn this %@#$ing @#$& off please. It is so irritating and pisses me off every time I open the app. I can't get rid of Dax Shepherd's stupid %@#$ing face. Does Spotify have a UX team? Do I need to remind them that means listening to your USERS?  This should be a simpler binary switch on/off hide/show.

I'm on the brink of subscribing to another Google product instead and I really don't want to.

**bleep**, I need to remove an album cover because my NON-LGBT friendly family can't know I listened to an obviously song from a gay movie.

Don't just put things up my home screen, LET ME REMOVE IT.

Cheesebag

I listened to a podcast once and did not like it. Now it always shows up at the top of on my home screen under Shows. Just let me remove this **bleep**.

Being able to reorganize the categories would be great too.

Please at least least let us downvote or remove ones we aren't interested in that you recommend. Tempted to move to Tidal now since there seems to be no movement on this issue.

Well - just new of spotify as one of the members of a family account. Spotify placed embarassing links to graphic podcast content on my homepage since I started using this app. I see that spotify is not changing his mind on that. Therefore my only choice is to deactivate my account. I wasted my money. However spotify is losing a number of clients. Personally, will say to all my contacts all the bad I can about the app and its illogical, unfriendly behavior. Obviously Spotify is receiving money from that guys producing that horrible podcasts. So, keep your money and I'll keep listening only the music I love. Bye.

If this does not change, I am leaving. Why should I see irrelevant stuff every time I open the app???????
