[All Platforms] Customize Start Screen

This is not a new idea, but I haven't found any practical reply to it, so I think it needs to be repeated. I completely agree with Rennestein (screen capture below), we need to stop seeing irrelevant suggestions because it is annoying. Why can't it be possible to decide what we first see when we open Spotify on any device? (playlists, recently played, artists we're following, etc), and enjoy better our Spotify experience?
Please Spotify, let us have the home screen as we'd like. :)) Thank you!

The home screen has continually gotten worse since this common sense "Idea" was opened.

Spotify suggests things I NEVER want to listen to. I don't ever want to listen to podcasts with it - ever. But if you ever click a link from someone, you'll be shown that podcast forever.

I know you folks need to make money through sponsored content (which you're not disclaiming as sponsored, BTW), but you're pushing WAY too much poorly-targeted garbage above the fold.

I merely just want to see my favorite artists, albums, and playlists up top.

This shouldn't be so complicated.

Please give me the option to remove podcasts from the main screen.

I have no desire to listen to podcasts with Spotify and never will.

It's clutter that I don't care about. I also find some of the recommendations disturbing and objectionable. I don't think I'm alone in feeling this way, and perhaps this needs more publicity?

Or, you know, you could just get this hot garbage off my screen.

I like to keep my music separate from podcasts so use a separate podcast app, so I'd like to be able to not have them appear on my Spotify homepage!

Surely being able to customise our home page to suit our tastes/interests in music or podcasts is a no-brainer?

Not having the ability to control what you see is the least human-centered design I can think of.

Wonder why this idea has fallen down the backlog rabbit-hole, or what your prioritisation criteria is. If it is how many people want this, then of course it will dunk.

But if you take into account how can we improve the experience of people, giving them more control never fails (not at least for that particular segment of people who do not want to be fed "The Top 10 Lists" by someone's criteria. 

Funny enough, your algorithm is so good in suggesting related stuff I may not now, but this has been buried by push-content that bears no relevance (trying one podcast does not make you a podcast lover, in general or of a particular genre. And, yet, my realstate is full of podcast at top level.

So... this is a big problem for me because I have a playlist titled hot **bleep** songs on my good morning, good afternoon, and good evening section of Spotify.  Am I guilty of listening to this playlist. Yes... Do I want it broadcasted to my young children. Heck No!!! I am not a prude but it pops up in the car all the time and I listened to it with my man ONE NIGHT!  Come on guys! Make your dashboard more customizable or at least let me remove stuff.  =  ( 

Update:  It is funny how this forum adds **bleep** but its not bleeped out on the dashboard in my car for my kids to see.

It's been years and they could not make a simple change to either fix their broken shortcuts or add the ability to hide that section. Every time I use Spotify I am met with things I don't enjoy anymore.

Is Spotify hiring,  because I'm a programmer and would love to work here!  Great pay, and apparently you don't EVER have to do anything - its a dream 2nd job.  Tell ya what, I will even "work" remote and save you the money on the office rent.  Just pay me to sit on the beach and "work", for years!

As for my actual issue - I subscribed to some podcasts just to make Rogan's cancerous mug go away. 

It was fun to come back to this thread - I was last on page 33, from over a year ago, and now its on page 90.  Quality work there, guys, but they aren't listening 😄

It’s pathetic from Spotify to push shitty podcasts on 1/4 of the home screen for a premium music service we pay for.  I quit for 6 months because I was sick of seeing awful podcasts recommended/forced on me, and will quit again once current promo deal runs out.

This screams of business overruling the UX team and ignoring what users want.
