[Android] Remove the Shuffle / Play Button

Hi, I tried out your new design, which I have mixed feelings about, but nevermind that. The most annoying thing I come over in the new Spotify (for iPhone by the way) is the dumb, big, overlapping, unnecessary shuffle play button that pops up everywhere. Is this a bug or is this on purpose? Could at least had add an option for it. Also, it doesn't look streamlined at all with the current design. Did it even occur that not everyone wants a shuffle play button?

 You know whats crazy? Its the SAME in Premium! So even if you do sign up for Spotify Premium, you STILL cant get rid of the Shuffle button, there isnt even an option within the settings to do so.

I commented on this thread years ago and stated that I think that the reason for the shuffle button is revenue. Spotify would not be so stuborn in their refusal to change this design, given years of angst against it, without having a financial reason not to.

I think it is either a cash flow or revenue issue. When users shuffle play, Spotify can choose the song, even the artist, that plays next. This must have an effect on when artist payouts occur, if they occur at all. If an artist receives a fraction of a cent per play, then a song must need to be played thousands of times before a typical payout threashold is reached. Shuffle playing through less popular songs, like the later songs on an albulm, would have a significant effect on this.

Spotify management has probably been shown a financial scenario model showing what it would cost, in terms of cash flow, to make sequential play the default rather than shuffle play.

I'm just speculating though...

I had spotify premium, but moved to Tidal because of Spotify's big, fat,
green shuffle button.

I'm new to Spotify, not all that impressed yet, and it's things like this SHUFFLE PLAY button in the middle of the screen that make me consider not renewing.

Why does Spotify assume I want to shuffle? Perhaps many do, but putting the button obtrusively, un-removeably in the middle of my small screen is annoying and disrespectful.  Could the shuffle button be relocated or at least made smaller, please?

For someone who listens to opera or classical music like choral works or concertos - pieces that have a definite and intended order of play - SHUFFLE PLAY is an anathema.  I don't care about shuffling on my popular playlists, but shuffling on classical music can be kinda painful...

As a new user of Spotify (Premium) the Shuffle Play has led to lots of confusion and frustration.

This remains the grossest part of Spotify to me - and is unchanged since my first look at Spotify nearly three years ago. Confusing for new (premium) users, an eyesore, and insulting to artists and playlist authors who pay attention to sequencing and storytelling in their albums and playlists.

It's also inconsistent with the web/desktop experience, at least for premium users. Something has to give.

For me the button there is okay, but I don't use it today because it's just for shuffle... If the same button in the same place was to play the album starting from the first song (moving to the second, third, fourth and so on) it would be much more useful and I would definitely use it heavily.

How is the shuffle button confusing and frustrating you? It has the words for exactly what it does, right on it. Also, for those who want to start from the first song, just press the first song. It's as simple as that. It's not overlapping, or an inconvenience.

Don't remove the shuffle button, Spotify. It's fine. If anything, just have an option to remove it, in the settings, or split it in half. Make one side "Shuffle Play" and the other side just "Play".

It isn't confusing, it's just too **bleep** big and out of place and green.
