[Desktop] Select default sound device for Spotify Connect

Currently Spotify defaults to using the default sound device when launched, it would be neat if you could choose which sound device you want to use instead in the options screen.

As **bleep**ty as windows or spotify, i don't know which one in my case, are programmed, this is a must-have feature. I own an external audio interface which doesn't work on windows with spotify. When using a programm called spotiamb linked to spotify i can assign my output device over there and it works fine.

Wow spotify censored my previous post. Just wow. The priorities in this company are so well thought-out. They can't get the most basic features into spotify, but they can correct your language. A truly american company. Also that i can't use spotiamb in offline mode because u can only link a device in online mode keeps me from playing my audio if i dont have internet. Please spotify, don't be a 10 year-old.

This post started in 2012 and its listed as a "not now" item.  Most software companies could get this done over a weekend.  You could sub out the work and still have it done in less than a week.

I've been recommending Spotify to people for years but I'll now stop or if I do mention it, I'll also mention poor customer support.  Spotify is the Pro Tools of the streaming industry concerning customer support.

This is an essential part of any app that handles audio. Spotify needs this. I'm tired of switching sound devices in Windows system settings just to use Spotify.

This is getting ridiculous, every single video or audio player supports this. Yet, the only one I spent hundreds of euros on, doesn't. 😄

Please Spotify this is an easy one to fix.  I mean it's totally an audio application, it should be a no brainer to allow us to pick which speakers we want to play our music through.  I've got so many audio sources and I don't like having to change my default just to listen to spotify through my bose 2.1 speakers.

Please!  I'm desperate!  Help! lol

It boggles the mind how this is not a feature. The primary purpose of this app is to output audio and yet it does not have functionality in place to change how that audio is output. That's embarassing, really.

C'mon! You already have the option to pick another physical device to play from, why can't we also pick from different installed audio devices?

It's even possible to set a desired audio device in microsoft windows media player for crying out loud!

This is more important than sharing played songs in the not-so-important news feed, or the discover weekly playlist... 😛

This will never happen because the programmers is behind a Pay To Use 3rd party program to get this feature.

27 pages of comments concerning  audio is output control over four years and this still isn't a priority?  This just seem like you really don't listen to your subscribers.  Not good business IMHO.
