[Discover Weekly] View previous Discover Weekly Playlists

The discover weekly feature is excellent, however I was disappointed yesterday to notice that last weeks playlist had disappeared. It would be great to be able to view previous discover weekly playlists.

Thanks

It still would be good if there was an official option to write the 30 tracks automatically to a growing playlist. You can also use the "recipes" on the new IFTTT Spotify channel to automate this process. I have created a new recipe for that and called it Discover Weekly Archive which works fine. If you want to use it for yourself, you have to create a free account on that site and allow access to your Spotify account, too. (hans-jurgen)

Hi there,

I did  that, created an account in IIFTTT, I have a new recipe and give a name to my playlist based in Discovery weekly. Now what should I see? That playlist in my spotify account or what? It is not there. For example, next week how can I find the Discovery playlist of this week? In spotify account or in IFTTT site.

Thank you

hans-jürgen

This recipe saves the new tracks from Discover Weekly to another playlist (e.g. Discover Weekly Archive) when Spotify updates your Discover Weekly playlist. This usually happens on Monday morning at 7:00 am, at least for me in Germany. So if you have created your new recipe or added my recipe to your IFTTT account later than that, it could not add the new 30 tracks yet, but will do this next week. You can of course manually copy the tracks from yesterday to your new playlist, so they will not be lost. And you can only see them in a Spotify playlist, not on IFTTT.

By the way, at the moment my personal activity protocol on Facebook seems to add all tracks that I listen to on Spotify automatically again, so you can always use that if you have a Facebook account, opted to publish your activities there and missed to copy the tracks from last Discover Weekly. And of course scrobbling to Last.fm would make that task even easier.

I'd love to see this feature too.  For now I'm going to follow the excellent advise and create my own IFTTT recipe.

  • Hi,

This feature "Discovery weekly archive" works very well. Choose the recipe in IFTTT and turn it on. Later, at Mondays morning, the new playlist of spotify will copy to another file called "Discovery Weekly Archive" which you can change the name. Next week the same.

So the verdict of this is that you cannot view old playlists?...

Hey fellow spotify listeners.

I created a small tool that comes in two flavours, in order to archive and EXPORT your discover weekly playlists

Here is a video for it

Here is a sample version of the free version, with data over the past 7 weeks https://rocketgraph.com/s/kNIy-ktkrop

You can find the tool here

Free version: https://rocketgraph.com/reports/36-spotlist-spotify-discover-weekly-archiver

Premium version: https://rocketgraph.com/reports/37-spotlist-spotify-discover-weekly-archiver-premium

Let me know if you have any comments / suggestions so I can improve it

Have a nice day

@Rokio @markcurling @joshyeung you can start using the free archiver so that you wont have the same issue ever again.
