Fix the awful shuffle

When I think of the word shuffle I think I will listen to every song in my playlist before I hear the same one again. Not for Spotify, they think it means play whatever songs they want. Even if you skip it everytime it still plays before a song I haven’t heard in a year. Give us a shuffle that plays every song before it repeats. Switch it up, I don’t want to hear the same 10 songs to start my shuffle everytime I reopen the app and start listening again.

Shuffle is an absolute joke. I'm subscribed to a playlist that has close to 7k songs (50hrs). There's absolutely no reason why I should be hearing the same songs over and over again, very frustrating.

Agree...the shuffle isn't great.

I too have some large playlists where there's songs in it I've never heard and then other songs I seem to hear a lot.

The shuffling could use some work.

They probably have bigger problems than that on their agenda though with stuff like HIFI for example.  They're seriously lagging behind their competition in that area.

Yes, and why is it that you have hundreds on artists and yet the same ones keep coming up every ten tracks or so?

The oldest reply I can see about the shitty shuffle function in Spotify is from 2012, that’s twelve years ago! And it’s still not fixed, and it has NEVER been working properly, and hundreds of users have told them from day one. Instead they are introducing Smart shuffle, before fixing the Dumb shuffle. 😅 I just can’t understand it and it annoys me every day. I’m thinking about finally leaving for Tidal.

The shuffle feature is horrible.... I'm guessing they have no idea how to idea how to fix it... there are hundreds of songs in my playlist that have never played over the last few years yet I hear the same ones nearly every time I use the feature. Just horrible

Same songs over and over again in Smart Shuffle!!!

For example, 4 songs keep playing again and again in the same group every after a new song recommendations and even tho I like those songs, it's too repetitive and just that 4 songs in the same groups again and again. Then if I turned on and off the Smart Shuffle, it gives me another set of 4-5 songs that I already heard recently and it sticks together. Very annoying!
