Smart shuffle is a fun way to discover new songs, but it comes at a cost. Want to reshuffle your queue? Bam, wait a few seconds longer. Want to unshuffle your playlist? Bam, no longer works, and goes to a completely random place in the playlist.

To me this is an unwanted complication, and I'd much rather be able to choose in the settings menu whether I want to enable the Smart Shuffle feature, or disable it.

This is terrible UI decision, it is dangerous toggling options when driving, please enable this as a separate feature or button, so that we may toggle through shuffle and regular.

Allow the user to interrupt or cancel the shuffle recommendation from loading and move to next state (shuffle or non shuffle cant remember which way round it goes).

If a user is stuck in poor mobile signal area but still wants to use what little signal they have the shuffle recommendation is a painful interruption to the user experience, unable to do anything till it finishes loading.

My Question or Issue

The Spotify smart shuffle should have a option to be disabled, or even better just completely removed. It's the most infuriating thing when I try to reshuffle my Playlist, Smart shuffle turns on, Skips my song mid playthrough, and then proceeds to crash or lag everything for a minute straight trying to turn smart shuffle off to get back to turn on regular shuffle. Like you guys are a multi million dollar company and cant make a simple option to turn this off? Like I don't wsnt smart shuffle to turn on when I try to reshuffle and then have it mess up my whole flow at work due to my song being skipped. Also ontop of turning smart shuffle on because I have no choice but to to get around it and reshuffle my Playlist. Ontop of stopping and skipping my song. It removes my que. Like just straight up remove it. Please. I don't pay all this money every year for trash features. I shouldn't have to be in offline mode to get around such a simple fix.

Just remove it already, you guys at Spotify literally have more excuse for it not being a option I'm the settings already, especially at launch. You guys just being lazy and don't wsnt to Listen to what your paying customers are begging you to do While you keep adding features to the app that makes it slower and then proceeding to shove it down everyone's throat

The logging out and logging back in workaround worked for me. What a stupid feature smart shuffle is. Just remove**bleep** already

Smart shuffle is a detrimental feature, as you've placed it in-between common use buttons; shuffle and play-thru. For those without a solid internet connection, the app will wait until it's connected to populate the a CUSTOM playlist with unwanted songs. This shouldn't have to be something that EVERYONE has to tinker with, it should be an option. And there should definitely be a way to disable it completely.

Smart shuffle is NOT even a fun way of discovering new songs! Enchance playlist was a fun feature that didn't mess with the play queue and you could easily click on the + to add the song permanently to the playlist. This smart shuffle is horrible and unusable. And of course Spotify being them, had to force this on us.

I do enjoy new features and evolving Spotify, but adding a feature shouldn't negatively impact another.

In the case of smart shuffle, this have sadly impacted the normal shuffle feature.

For people that toggle shuffle on/off, the new feature have added about a 300-500% increase in time when toggling (hard to calculate with the very low numbers).

But even if it's just ~1 more second, the added time changes the feature from being a complete reactive and almost invisible action, to be an interactive action with a long wait.

For people that often used the toggle, and mostly only go into the app to do just that one thing, the added time is a MAJOR increase in time spend in the app.

Not cool!

Please change it to be a general setting, or make the waiting time an asynchronously feature, so we don't have to wait for the feature to turn on, before turning it off again.
