Removing Podcast Recommendations

Even though I've never listened to a podcast on my Spotify account, Spotify keeps recommending me multiple podcasts that I've absolutely no interest in. And what's more bothering is that you can't remove them from your home page or block podcast suggestions completely at the moment.

I've also chatted with Spotify support and they told me it's not possible to remove podcast suggestions from home screen completely, and they suggested I wrote down my complaint on the community page so that users with similar complaints can make sure their voices are heard.

So please, if you're having the same problem as me, leave a remark on this and try to enhance user experience who only enjoy music and are not interested in listening to lame people yap about trivial stuff and think this is a good idea.

Edit: Hey everyone, it's relieving to see so many people sharing similar ideas about the horrific recommendation system Spotify has been implementing. Despite the fact that I have never, ever listened to a single minute of podcast, I still get recommended stoic mindset bulls*** or stand-up comedy or movie review podcasts. If I wanted to listen to a movie critique or wanted to watch or listen to a stand-up comedy show without interruption,  I'd pay for YouTube premium, not you damn Spotify. I wanna stream music and only MUSIC!!! Fix it!

I've suddenly started getting recommended right wing US political garbage like Ben Shapiro and Joe Rogan I have ZERO interest in. But they are all over my Spotify page.

The recommended podcast feature needs to change. I don’t want new podcast recommendation to show up in my “new episodes” section. Occasionally the recommended podcast will automatically start playing. No one wants this. I want to listen to the podcasts that I already subscribe to, not the “Mr Ballen” podcast or “On Meaning with Jay Shetty”. It’s an annoying feature that showed up relatively recently and I bet il not the only one annoyed by it. Also, don’t show locked podcasts that we can’t listen to in our new episodes section.

Whenever I open the app on mobile, half the screen is taken up by a podcast recommendation of which I have absolutely no interest or understanding of. As per the attached example, I have no idea why that podcast is being forced on my feed nor is it even clear what it's about. I'm aware I can hit "not interested" on any podcast that shows up, but as far as I'm aware that doesn't stop them from constantly appearing on my front page.

Any help is appreciated.

 You can remove by going on the three dots, pressing on option not interested on picked for you suggestions.

As I said, I know you can do that, but it doesn't stop further recommendations.

I’ve noticed full-length recommendation episodes (like “You Might Also Like: The Oprah Podcast”) showing up in my Library under “New Episodes,” even though I haven’t followed those shows. In this case, it was listed under Cold Case Files, which I do follow — but the episode isn’t actually from that show.

This makes it harder to keep track of genuine new content and adds noise to a space I rely on for clarity. I’d really appreciate an option to turn these recommendations off, or to limit my Library to content from shows I’ve explicitly chosen.

Spotify keeps recommending me podcasts from creators that I'm not interested in. I'd like a way to hide these recommendations.

A feature like this already exists on Youtube and it's awesome! With two clicks, I can instantly get Youtube stop recommending certain channels.

Why can't Spotify allow me to do the same for Podcasts?

As other people have noted about seeing the auto-playing "recommendations" on the home screen (which there is no way to turn off!), they are adverts.

I often get things that are not even close to the kind of content I listen to, the latest being a podcast about rappers (see attached), I have never listened to a single rapper and I have had my account since the Spotify Beta, around 15 years, not to mention the alt-right podcasts that also get recommended to me, which again I don't want to see.

It is simply not the case that your recommendation algorithm is garbage, it is plain and clear these are paid adverts. Everytime I see one I rate the podcast 1 star. Turn them off, or we just leave Spotify. If you remove this idea I will cancel my subscription.

I’m experiencing exactly the same issue.
I use Spotify mainly for calm and meditative activities, and the constant push of new “Recommended for You” podcasts is overwhelming and disruptive.
