Select and organize multiple Playlists

This is a direct copy of this idea which was originally posted 2 years ago.  I wasn't a user then, and this idea has since been made inactive, so I'm resurrecting it.  Even just a shift-select on the desktop app would help immeasurably.  Here's the original idea:

"I am looking for easy ways to organize my library.

I want to do some housekeeping in my library, but I find the current system of dragging and dropping individual playlists is too time consuming when the number of playlists reach this high.

First of all, there should be a way to select multiple playlists at once and be able to handle multiple playlists the same way as I can handle single playlist (ability to drag and drop, and rightclick w/ a special dropdown menu for multiple selected items).

Ctrl-clicking, shift-clicking and shift+arrowkeys would help greatly.

[Edit] This idea is nearing its 2 year anniversary of no official recognition. Good times! 🙂

As a sidenote my Spotify library now consists of 1296 playlists."

I think this is Spotify's way of taking control FROM users and forcing their "discoverability" **bleep** on us all - flashy visual modules of music I don't like. I suspect they just want us to be passive consumers.

@medu11a that's an interesting assessment and probably at least partially accurate. I've enjoyed the release radar playlist but everything else including radio is not what I'm interested in. Sadly the majority are passive listeners (why Pandora is so successful). But I'm pretty sure there are some music headz at Spotify, so I'm surprised that this enhancement has not happened. How are those headz who are excessive consumers of albums managing things????

Oh and this Daily Mix **bleep** is totally for the Pandora crowd...makes me want to puke...

Amen! Amen! This has bothered me for over five years! I love order, but just can't find it in me to spend the hours to organize hundreds of playlists... one at a time. I love Spotify, but this is kind of ridiculous. Seems simple enough. There must be a reason why Spotify has ignored this request. It's made me think about switching to to Apple Music.

I can't believe better playlist organization hasn't been introduced! I have over 100 playlists, which has made it difficult to find playlists I made or followed in 2014. If playlists need to be organized, they shouldn't only have a sequential list of when they were created. We need to be able to create playlist folders to better organize our playlists by mood, year, or year created

Yes! Please! Give me checkboxes! Unless there is another way to asign one song to multiple playlists (Gym, Commute, etc.) all at once with checkboxes that I'm not aware of? Otherwise, keep up the good work, we've come A LONG way so I'm grateful. You got my support.

I have been wanting easier playlist organization for a very long time now. I have several hundred playlists which makes it very difficult to drag and drop playlists into folders. I wish I could just right-click to send a folder to a playlist or maybe even utilize check boxes to send multiple playlists to a folder all at once. I would be able to access the playlists I want in a much more streamlined and convenient fashion if this idea was finally implemented.

Yes, a very good idea.
Please absolutely implement.
Belongs to every good application !!!
It saves a lot of work.
I hope it happens soon

We have been waiting for 5 years now for this simple essential feature to happen ...

The first time it was posted was here: https://community.spotify.com/t5/Closed-Ideas/Select-and-organize-multiple-playlists/idi-p/104133

I can only agree with black bamboo (2014-12-30).
This function is a must for any application.

Come on Spotify, the excuse that not enough 'kudos' is given is not good enough this issue keeps getting brought up.  There's enough people it's beginning to really irritate, why wouldn't you just deal with this?
