Touch preview removal on last iOS vers. update looks like it hasn't been a great idea. You are on time to restore it, one of the best Spotify features.

Very disappinted to learn its gone! 

Hard to believe the preview feature had a low enguagement rate, how many times do people press the preview a song on iTunes! 

On the discover page I used the preview function all the time, please bring it back!

As a user experience designer myself, I can understand how teams make decisions like the one to remove this feature. At the same time, I also understand how teams make decisions based on skewed or inaccurate information and internal pressure from other departments. I hope that the UX team at Spotify is able to use this thread as ammunition in getting the feature back into the app.

Regardless of any usage data the feature, like ALL iOS force touch/hold gestures suffers from lack of discoverability. Discoverability has no bearing on the usefulness of the feature. I imagine if they would've somehow messaged within the app that the quick preview capability exists, usage would sky rocket. There's not one person I know IRL who was aware of this feature. However, once I would show them that it exists, the quick preview functionality would become one of their favorite aspects about the app.

Since this feature does not cause an adverse experience within the app (for those who are unaware of it), I can't imagine why it would be removed for any reason other than the engineering team not wanting to support writing code around it anymore, devoid of understanding the value of the feature to people who learn about it and inevitably use it all the time.

And as far as usage stats, I would bet money on the fact that the analytics are not instrumented in a way that captures the true scope of user behavior (I.e. where they track every time someone enters into preview mode from anywhere within the app), and thus analytics reports provide an inaccurate, undercounted, representation of usage.

In de reclameblokken klinkt steeds een knal en dan een hoop gegil. Dit moet iets van een vuurwerkshow zijn waarop het publiek enthousiast reageerd. Inmiddels komt het meer over als een aanslag waarbij het publiek in panier reageert. Mijn tip / verzoek is om dit uit het reclameblok te halen.

Bring it back.  I instantly noticed it was gone and I was so confused.  I hate tech companies that do things to make their product worse.  This kind of thing happens way too much with software, there was no reason for this change and it just makes me distrust the company and their vision for the future...

Please add this back! Me and many others will soon enough be switching over to Apple Music if this isn't added. You can see the very long list of complaints how this was taken away without anyone voting for it to be. No one was informed on why there wasn't just an option to toggle long press preview on/off. Please give us an update or something ! No one would have manually updated this app if they didn't have to.
