[iOS][Discover] Restore Touch Preview on iOS App

Touch preview removal on last iOS vers. update looks like it hasn't been a great idea. You are on time to restore it, one of the best Spotify features.

Updated on 2019-03-19

Hey!

Thanks for coming to the Community, and adding your vote to this idea!

This feature was originally removed from the app due to low engagement. There was a statement at the time which you can check out at https://community.spotify.com/t5/iOS-iPhone-iPad/Touch-Preview-on-iOS-removal/td-p/1857905.

We're keeping this idea as 'Not Right Now', as it's not something we have any immediate plans to add back onto the app.

If we do have any new info to share we'll check back in here with a new status.

Cheers!

I miss being able to hold a song to hear a preview!

Please bring this feature back. It was one of the features I used to justify why the Apple Music is not user friendly and why Spotify is preferable.

The reason it had low engagement rate is simply because people didn't know about it, I miss this feature desperately, with it gone I find it much harder to find new music.

Bring it back!!!

Extremely disappointed about this decision.

At the end of this month I’m off and away for Apple Music!

PLEASE BRING THE PREVIEW BACK. It is harder to discover new music, and it’s frustrating.

Well, as someone who only used this feature daily I guess I'm just a number in its "low engagement rate" that doesn't matter. This was one of my favorite features that worked brilliantly in tandem with Spotify Connect. I was able to preview songs on my phone and queue them up on my stereo system with a process that still isn't available on any other service. It impressed my friends every time I showed them that I didn't have to pause the playlist to check what song I wanted next. Going with what others have said the reason it was low engagement was because so few knew about it. Every time I showed it to someone they made it a part of their listening, too.

Even if there was a legitimate reason for Spotify to end this, I feel like we deserve more than a simple "here one version gone the next" treatment.

Bring it back!

Spotify — the reason it had such a low engagement rate is because SO many people don’t know it exists or what it’s used for. I brought this up to many friends and they didn’t even know it was a function.

Do a better job of advertising it instead of taking it away from those of us who enjoy it!!

What makes spotify so special is the ability and ease of discovering  new music. You have completely taken that away from us by removing this feature. BRING IT BACK

Heyjer

This was a distinct feature of spotify and very very useful. With the loss of this distinction so too the loss of distribution of Spotify as a service for me. I'm definitely using spotify less now already. Canceled premium sub and been using competitors much more. This feature historically is what made me open the app whenever I had a new song to find. Now, I go elsewhere like googling or amazon search.
