Touch preview removal on last iOS vers. update looks like it hasn't been a great idea. You are on time to restore it, one of the best Spotify features.

Thanks for coming to the Community, and adding your vote to this idea!

 

This feature was originally removed from the app due to low engagement. There was a statement at the time which you can check out at https://community.spotify.com/t5/iOS-iPhone-iPad/Touch-Preview-on-iOS-removal/td-p/1857905.

 

We're keeping this idea as 'Not Right Now', as it's not something we have any immediate plans to add back onto the app.

 

If we do have any new info to share we'll check back in here with a new status.

I was just looking for some music today and wanted to preview a playlist and realized that the feature was gone ... what the **bleep**? Please bring it back, that feature is one of the main points why I choose Spotify over Apple Music!

PLEASE BRING BACK TOUCH PREVIEW!! I'm SO disappointed it's gone... was by far one of the best features that set Spotify apart.

One of the greatest features that I have used on spotify. I don't really know how I am supposed to discover new songs without spending hours (that I don't even have).

Missing it really hard and I'm very disappointed about this decision. Please bring it back or give the user the possibility to choose by his own, if he want to activate or deactivate this function.

This feature was one of the main reasons I came back to spotify after trying apple music for about 6 months.   I used it almost everyday.  They said there was limited engagement, but I wonder how many people even know it existed.  I discovered it by accident.

 

Now this is gone and there still isn't local playback on apple watch support which i've been waiting for nearly a year.  I'm seriously considering cancelling and going back to to apple music.  They don't have preview either, but at least there I can use my watch.

 

I loved spotify, but this is frustrating.

Dear spotify,
I liked using this feature to quickly get a "feel" for if I liked a certain playlist. It made my experience much more enjoyable when searchnig for new playlists and albums. I also think it makes Spotify more unique/advanced than Apple music for coming out with this feature. Now, it seems that Spotify is largely IGNORING its user base with no proper explanation. After more than 4 years of making no progress on MUCH requested features, I believe that it is time that Spotify become an Open-Source Project, which means that registered users may freely develop and submit tweaks and adjustments for everyone to use! I feel that this unnecessary backtracking shows the Spotify team's lack of competence in development and failure to keep up with other streaming services.

Spotify, I'm breaking up with you. I will find a better music streamer and tell all my friends about it because your latest record of heartbreaking news doesn't know any end. I will miss what we could have been, but I don't see a bright future with you. Goodbye.
