[iOS] Implement Native HomePod Support

Details

Just this week at WWDC (June 22, 2020), Apple announced support for third party music services on the HomePod.  I'm requesting that Spotify implement native support for the HomePod such that one or even multiple HomePods will appear in the "Connect to a device" menu on any Apple device WITHOUT having to connect through Airplay.  This will also allow users to ask Siri to play songs from Spotify on their HomePod(s).

Apple is opening up the HomePod, and I know there are many other HomePod users that would love to have native Spotify support on their speaker.

I bet them not implementing this (obviously not well desired) feature has ZERO to do with this:

SPOTIFY, if you were just truthful with your customers... nope it's better for us to create rumors and spread bad PR.

I hate to come here every half a year to see that airplay 2 support is not yet implemented. Tragic

If native HomePod integration will not be published this year, I will definitely switch to Apple Music.

3 years time and nothing happened 😞

This is absolutely childish behaviour. You blamed Apple not open their platforms for third-party developers but now that they do you still refuse to make native support for HomePod and to adopt AitPlay 2. This is ridiculous! I’m a long time Spotify premier user but if you continue behaving like a child and ignore your customer and community, I’ll move to other streaming service like Apple Music! How much complaints do you want, so it be a “significant volume” ? Oh and congrats! EU fine Apple of 1.8 billion euros for music streaming rivals via restrictions on its App Store, so MAYBE now a good time to adopt these features!

You’ve won your childish battle with Apple over DMA. Now implement HomePod support and Airplay 2.

Just a note to every one getting notifications on this thread. I like most here finaly got fed up ans made the switch over to Apple Music due to Spotify disregard for us all. I am SO happy i did, The audio quality and full support for my HomePods is SO MUCH BETTER. Just make the switch it is worth it 100%. Yes it will take some time to adjust but the over all experience is worth it by far. And with the new AI based features coming to Apple music in the coming months it will be even better. There are lots of tools to export your playllists and with that moved over Apple music will have a good grasp of your tastes. Just do it . you wont regret it.

After so many years, I am seriously considering switching to apple music just due to the fact that HomePod support is missing. I have no Idea how this can be acceptable

"Spotify, please stop with the childishness, and fix this."

I check this thread from time to time to see if it has any status updates but of course it doesn't.

I don't understand why keeping people from using all the features provided by Apple should bring more users to Spotify. In fact, it is the opposite: if someone has a HomePod or AirPods Pro or any other Dolby-Atmos enabled listening device, using Spotify is very frustrating.

I am sticking to Spotify only for the few social features that it has over Apple Music, it is literally the only reason why I don't switch to Apple Music; and every day it gets worse and worse.

Please, stop behaving childish and give your people what they have been asking for 4 years now.

meanwhile YouTube Music has native homepod support and better sound quality. spotify comes with nothing but lame excuses.
