[iOS] Implement Native HomePod Support

Details

Just this week at WWDC (June 22, 2020), Apple announced support for third party music services on the HomePod.  I'm requesting that Spotify implement native support for the HomePod such that one or even multiple HomePods will appear in the "Connect to a device" menu on any Apple device WITHOUT having to connect through Airplay.  This will also allow users to ask Siri to play songs from Spotify on their HomePod(s).

Apple is opening up the HomePod, and I know there are many other HomePod users that would love to have native Spotify support on their speaker.

Please upvote this idea to garner attention for it.  Thank you Spotify and the Spotify community.  Let's get this implemented so it's ready for general iOS 14 release this September!

An actual mention of Spotify and it's HomePod failing.

This is a joke right? Even my 10$ garbage speaker has Spotify Connect. Like @mysticalistical  I'm also going to wait until WWDC but then im done with Spotify. I never thought I would end my Spotify subscription after all these years because of this **.

It's been almost a year since this idea was submitted and I'm done putting up with the massive battery drain and latency of Airplay 1 any longer. When will Spotify stop punishing their PAYING customers for their problems with Apple, it's so ridiculous.

Did someone just delete a post about this?

Spotify’s chief legal officer posting something dumb about Apple?

Ahh, thanks.

Don’t comment on much, but I have to say that if Spotify isn’t supported on the HomePod, I will be leaving for Apple Music.

Apple Music also works out cheaper for the year so everyone will be happy apart from Spotify

I need to get out of this crappy service. Funny how Spotify talks about Apple being a bully and then limiting their custom to use their own devices or also blocking API to export ones library to another service. Disappointment to the moon!

Going to be leaving for FAR SUPERIOR Apple Music soon and with me another 5 people.

Moving this from “idea” to “good suggestion” is not good enough, Spotify. Release the update. Or you’re going to lose this customer.
