[iOS] Implement Native HomePod Support

Details

Just this week at WWDC (June 22, 2020), Apple announced support for third party music services on the HomePod.  I'm requesting that Spotify implement native support for the HomePod such that one or even multiple HomePods will appear in the "Connect to a device" menu on any Apple device WITHOUT having to connect through Airplay.  This will also allow users to ask Siri to play songs from Spotify on their HomePod(s).

Apple is opening up the HomePod, and I know there are many other HomePod users that would love to have native Spotify support on their speaker.

Je viens à mon tour de résilier, au profit de Deezer qui lui prend en charge le Homepod.

Le silence de Spotify face à tant de mécontentements me laisse franchement perplexe...

L'abonnement Famille de Deezer est également moins cher que celui de Spotify.

Shazam is offering 5 months of Apple Music for free to new users

Cancelled my subscription and am currently trying out Deezer…very impressed so far, it’s the only music service I’ve found that actually allows me to NOT play a certain artist, and FLOW is playing some really cool music. Allowed me to import all my Spotify favourite artists and Playlists. Works with my HomePod mini too of course

I NEED the app for home pod.

I am sick of stutters and constant lags that happen while I stream the audio via airplay.

I honestly would move to Apple Music to get rid of problems with airplay, but my whole family uses Spotify, so I can't.

Ability to use "connect to a device" with HomePod would simply be enough, or any other way to bring decent Spotify sound quality to homepod.

Got the same problem with family. I was told that newer iPhones were less
happy with Spotify so I have my fingers crossed they get fed up. Or I may
just move on unilaterally

This is nuts, Spotify should really hire more engineers to get these things implemented in months instead of years. Apple Music looking more and more necessary. Sad.

I have a spotify family plan but after this month I’m canceling and moving to apple music. Sad that months are passing by while Spotify won’t even give a straight answer.

Moving is hard, but at least others are valuing the customers… 😕

I'm in the same boat.  I love Spotify and have used it for years.  Just got some Homepod minis which are great little speakers.  No support from Spotify will likely lead me to Apple Music instead of my Premium account.  My kids won't be happy, but that's how it goes.

I thought, "They all say the same thing." And that's why Spotify should listen and focus on the important things. Streaming quality and not whether albums should be shuffled or not. I mean, why do I need a service like Spotify with millions of tracks, artists and albums to listen to, but every single song makes me angry because it is streamed with a 3-7 second delay and lags all the time. AirPlay 2 would be a first step (I know there is another topic, thank you!).

At the moment, Apple Music is really tempting for me too, Spotify is probably no longer dependent on paying customers anyway.

How many more comments crying out loud for this to be implemented does this need??? Spotify, for gods sake, act now!!!
