[iOS] Implement Native HomePod Support

Details

Just this week at WWDC (June 22, 2020), Apple announced support for third party music services on the HomePod.  I'm requesting that Spotify implement native support for the HomePod such that one or even multiple HomePods will appear in the "Connect to a device" menu on any Apple device WITHOUT having to connect through Airplay.  This will also allow users to ask Siri to play songs from Spotify on their HomePod(s).

Apple is opening up the HomePod, and I know there are many other HomePod users that would love to have native Spotify support on their speaker.

Please upvote this idea to garner attention for it.  Thank you Spotify and the Spotify community.  Let's get this implemented so it's ready for general iOS 14 release this September!

Recent comments made to Mark Gurman suggest what we want is TikTok and not HomePod support because not enough users complain about it. Well first of all you have over 6,000 people complaining about it who are likely paying customers and who are likely to drop you because you are intentionally creating a poor user experience and because you are completely ignoring an entire generation of their children (too young to own a phone, post to this forum, or navigate the app) who are developing a preference for shouting commands to a smart speaker rather than find their favorite song in an app. You know who is missing the boat on that next generation? Spotify. The next generation won’t even know to complain about this because you’ve removed yourself from their workflow. They’ll continue asking Apple Music to play their music because Apple Music responded when they called.

I love Spotify but to survive you need to be thinking about the future as well as the now (chasing TikTok). This is a VERY simple change that could significantly impact your future. Just sayin.

Yeah I mean 6k are complaining but think of all the people that don’t complain. When you really think you can stop people from buying a HomePod because of the lack of HomePod support you are deadly wrong. That’s ridiculous hubris.
People who want to buy a HomePod just use Apple Music or are so dumb like me and fckn wait for you 😅

Daniel is obviously lost in vanity. You absolutely neglect your customers and even the musicians for vanity projects like your so called war against Apple and a ridiculous sponsoring for his favourite football club although the company can’t afford such things. Pure vanity, poor economic decisions, pure egoism.
deeply disappointed

It's wild that Spotify had time to launch an entire class action against Apple for being anti-competitive regarding Spotify's inability to take advantage of features available to native iOS, and yet when Apple *do* provide the access Spotify choose to ignore it and pretend like it doesn't exist.

Come on, folks. You've had over 3 years to implement this, several other music streaming services have done it, you have it already for Alexa and Google Home, and you even have Siri integration (but not HomePod integration) - so where is Spotify?!

Any updates on this?

Hey! When I first got my HomePod a couple of years ago I kept on waiting for Spotify support to be added. Still waiting...

please I'm begging you, I don't even expect you to read my comment but I hope that the comment number increasing on this idea will signal that there are people who care about this *checks watch* 3 years after the feature was added to the HomePod for 3rd party audio support. Don't hurt your customer experience to make a point, seriously. This makes you look bad.

I still don't understand why it takes so long to implement things like 3rd party support or Airplay 2. It seems to me, that Spotify uses its customers to fight against Apple. Total nonsense!

Please get your stuff together and be an innovative tech company with focusing on a good UI, and new services, and listen to what people paying for the service want.

Here comes another insignificant complaint about the lack of Airplay 2 support.

how long will that take? heading over to another service soon
