[iOS] Implement Native HomePod Support

Details

Just this week at WWDC (June 22, 2020), Apple announced support for third party music services on the HomePod.  I'm requesting that Spotify implement native support for the HomePod such that one or even multiple HomePods will appear in the "Connect to a device" menu on any Apple device WITHOUT having to connect through Airplay.  This will also allow users to ask Siri to play songs from Spotify on their HomePod(s).

Apple is opening up the HomePod, and I know there are many other HomePod users that would love to have native Spotify support on their speaker.

Thanks for this. Very helpful to know.

Are we going to have an ETA on this? Or at least a "we won't ever do this"?

I don't want to switch to Apple Music just so that a week later HomePod support is announced.

This entire situation and thread highlights a key issue with Spotify. Not so much the application itself, but the bs politics and stand-still development behind it. Key features are ignored (not denied, even) as if Spotify is plugging its ears and screaming. I am heavily considering moving away from the platform permanently, as at this point, at least Apple acknowledges feedback and requests.  Spotify needs to stop playing corporate games and get this and other popular feedback ideas dealt with.

Get the **bleep** off your asses and add**bleep**!

My parents are on a receiving end of two HomePods minis currently, I'll be moving them to Apple Music, so they can use native features and I don't have to explain to them how to use it with Spotify...

Oh look, a new web and mac experience... I wonder if they're close to adding support?  I doubt it but there's some glimmer of hope:

Interesting. Well spotted. I still just don't really understand how it
hurts Spotify if they sort out the Siri App. All we would be doing is
playing content by asking rather than typing. Ther's just no point them
pretending that Apple don't allow it, because Apple do allow it.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - people need to call them out on social media. Whether it's on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, whatever. Tag your friends, tech publications, etc.

Please Spotify! I know it’s a lot of work making new features and such but apple have a tool to make this feature easy to implement! This post has 3k+ votes, maybe look into it! Give us a response!

I fear that I do not have a social media presence but some of the 3000+
must have. I have however tried to interest the media including What HiFi
and Stereophile and a number of others, some declaring they have an
interest in writing about Big Tech. All to no avail. Strikes me as a good
story. Controversy/conflict. I thought some of the media liked that sort of
thing.
