[iOS] Implement Native HomePod Support

Details

Just this week at WWDC (June 22, 2020), Apple announced support for third party music services on the HomePod.  I'm requesting that Spotify implement native support for the HomePod such that one or even multiple HomePods will appear in the "Connect to a device" menu on any Apple device WITHOUT having to connect through Airplay.  This will also allow users to ask Siri to play songs from Spotify on their HomePod(s).

Apple is opening up the HomePod, and I know there are many other HomePod users that would love to have native Spotify support on their speaker.

Unfortunately, No.
no reaction at all.. sad.

Why does Spotify work with Siri on the iPhone, but not with Siri on the Homepod? Lots of people want you to integrate this, and the number will increase while HomePod mini sells well! Don't let them down and don't make them cancel their Spotify accounts. I'm already thinking about it....

I gather they think it gives them leverage in their court case. I suppose
one should not be surprised by the behaviours of big tech. But it leaves a
nasty taste.

How is this not already implemented!? Please give us HomePod support!

Well, this is something I would appreciate and not "Spatial Audio" in the iOS app.

Sad to say I’ve cancelled Spotify and moved to Apple Music until they get it figured out.

The silence is deafening on this issue!

We have decided to cancel our family plan and take up Apple Music, which is free for a few months with a HomePod anyway. I really hope Spotify decide to acknowledge their paying customers on this issue soon!

I am trying my Apple Music trial for 4 months and hope to come back to Spotify after if this is implemented. Prefer Spotify, but will pick it only if implemented into HomePod as native. Plz make this update so I can come back 🙂

Just received my two HomePods mini, already have two HomePods.

As I said a couple of weeks ago implementation may take some time and a community like this is cool but IMHO a chat with other community folks (who know nothing about your plans or roadmaps) is not the main purpose of it but rather a dialogue with you Spotify. I would have supported Spotify and could have waited for longer without canceling my subscription - but here we are now.

Even though the suggestions of Spotify are really awesome and there are many many songs elsewhere unavailable I'm tired of being treated like someone who is not worth paying attention to (as is true for all the other guys here).

Not having to use one of my iOS devices and getting the batteries sucked dry because of it I'm happy to give Apple Music a shot to have native support and even multiroom functionality via Airplay 2.

Won't come back for while to avoid seeing comment's and upvotes numbers rising without any reaction of you Spotify and then leave again (even more) frustrated.

I can only imagine that it's more cost effective to maintain a community like this and to lose a lot of paying customers to Apple Music because of ignoring them and then start a campaign to happily announce the accomplished mission of implementation and hope for switchers to come back rather than showing some decency and respond right away.

Good luck Spotify
