[iOS] Implement Native HomePod Support

Details

Just this week at WWDC (June 22, 2020), Apple announced support for third party music services on the HomePod.  I'm requesting that Spotify implement native support for the HomePod such that one or even multiple HomePods will appear in the "Connect to a device" menu on any Apple device WITHOUT having to connect through Airplay.  This will also allow users to ask Siri to play songs from Spotify on their HomePod(s). 

 

Apple is opening up the HomePod, and I know there are many other HomePod users that would love to have native Spotify support on their speaker.

Please upvote this idea to garner attention for it.  Thank you Spotify and the Spotify community.  Let's get this implemented so it's ready for general iOS 14 release this September!

How in the world this isn't implemented yet is beyond me. Y'all are a $60B company with one product. Support it.

 

I'd love to resub to premium, but I'm just sitting here stuck with the abomination that is Apple Music until the Spotify devs get off their behinds.

And yet they just increased price of family subscription from 8.99€ to 10.99€. For 14.95€ can have Apple One bundle...

Glad to hear about Apple Music working well for you. I’m going to start a trial of that and if I like it on my other devices, then go ahead and buy a HomePod and cancel my Spotify premium family membership. 
Easy enough to switch back to Spotify if they ever decide to start working through these very highly voted / heavily requested features, but it seems that for now they think that ignoring us is the better option?

I've definitely noticed this, and have the email notifications to prove it. That's why I specifically mentioned Apple Music in my last post to see if that's why they're being removed. That post was rejected 3 times, I initially tried to post it days ago. 

Honestly Spotify all you have to do is have somebody address our concerns even if you don't do anything about it. Just acknowledge the people paying you for your service!
