[iOS] Landscape mode on iPhone

Hello folks!

Since we just released "Landscape Mode on Android" and we marked the idea as "implemented", we wanted it to be fair with iPhone users (half of the comments were supporting Android half iPhone) so we have created this idea just for you iPhone users!

We have also added half of the kudos to be entirely fair.

Give it some kudos if you want to see this implemented.

A 12 year old can make an app in landscape mode, how can a huge organisation like spotify not make it work? It's almost sad, not being able to fix such a simple thing. I mean, it's the same content only resized.

this is really a nice answer, after alomost 2 years waiting and 1 year colleting Kudos....

anyway is correct that Spotify have other more urgent task as the IOS app doesn't work at all. for a lot of users....

The dimensions of Iphone is really a bad excuse, exactly becouse iphone is small a landascape mode is needed to can read the tittle of the tracks....

anyway this is complelty sufficent for me, I canceled my subscription and went to another provider,

I'm seriously finding it hard to comprehend, Spotify's reluctance to implementing landscape mode on the iPhone app.

Are the dev's in Sweden? I know scandinavians just don't like being told "What to do", they need reasoning.

Here's mine. I have an iPhone, mounted in my car to use navigation apps. It's a mini cooper, so I don't have many choices of satnav's that can fit, as there is no space to fit DIN sized navigation nor audio.

Luckily I found an fanstastic app that I use it 100% time the car is running. And that app is locked in landscape mode only.

I see landscape mode to be a natural fit for automotive use.

Every other app works in landscape, except Spotify. Great shame as after 3 months of being a paying subscriber, I almost always listen to Spotify for my music.

Please, coders at Spotify. Landscape mode is a necessity for my use, and many others who use it while driving.

I guess they are busy coding for CarPlay? It will be a while till I get a CarPlay compatible car. Pretty please Spotify.

I just switched to iPhone and wish I hadn't for the simple reason that Spotify is uninterested in giving their subscribers an equal user experience across all platforms. The Android version is much better as it has landscape mode and volume normalization. How are these two perfunctory functions of any audio app even a topic of discussion? They should just... be.

At last someone had come with the in-car solution I have been waiting for, an integrated head unit with smartphone mount by Sony (the XSP-N1BT), see it at Tech Radar. It has a native app, and one of the options in it is Spotify - fantastic.

Except, the phone is mounted in the car in landscape mode. So Spotify simply cannot be used...

So close, yet so far.

If feel compelled to back this. I have no expectations to get a reply. But my understanding is that the spotify team obviously listen to the android market but not the iOS for some reason. This is a poor show spotify and expected more.

It would be way more beneficial to me if it were able to flip upside down in portriat view rather than rotate to landscape mode.

In other words, because the charging port is on the bottom of the phone, sometimes I have to rotate the phone on its head.

I use some other apps, particulary map apps, in the car that rotate upside-down.

This feature would make it 10 times easier to read & use.

Aaaaargh PLEASE sort this, lack of landscape and the new dark ok dark theme makes this next to useless in the car!
