I already reset my device and deleted the app and download it again. i even made sure the toggle is on in my carplay settings. Can anyone assist and help me out? i keep having to hold on siri to show the album art and it is getting annoying

If album art is not showing on Apple CarPlay while using Spotify, even after troubleshooting, here are steps you can try to resolve the issue:

Steps to Fix Album Art Issue in CarPlay

  1. Check Spotify Settings

    • Open Spotify on your iPhone.
    • Ensure your app is updated to the latest version.
    • Navigate to Settings > Playback and toggle any visual-related features (like Canvas) off and on to refresh them.
  2. Restart Your System

    • Reboot your iPhone and your car’s infotainment system. Sometimes, a simple restart resolves minor glitches.
  3. Reset CarPlay Connection

    • On your iPhone:
      • Go to Settings > General > CarPlay.
      • Select your car and choose Forget This Car.
      • Reconnect your iPhone via USB or Bluetooth and set up CarPlay again.
  4. Check iOS and Spotify Updates

    • Ensure your iPhone is running the latest iOS version.
    • Check for any updates to Spotify in the App Store.
  5. Enable “Show Album Art” in Car Settings

    • Some car systems have a setting to enable or disable album art display. Double-check this option in your car’s infotainment settings.
  6. Try a Different Cable or Connection

    • If you’re using a wired connection, test with a different Lightning cable.
    • If you’re using wireless CarPlay, disconnect and try a wired connection to see if the issue persists.
  7. Clear Cache on Spotify

    • Open Spotify and go to Settings > Storage > Clear Cache.
  8. Use a Different Music App for Testing

    • Play music through another app (e.g., Apple Music) to check if album art displays correctly. If it does, the issue is likely specific to Spotify.
  9. Contact Spotify or Your Car Manufacturer

    • If the issue persists, reach out to Spotify Support and provide them with details about your iOS version, car model, and Spotify version.
    • You can also contact your car manufacturer’s support team to see if the infotainment system requires a firmware update.

Temporary Workaround

If holding Siri consistently displays the album art, you can temporarily use Siri commands to request and display specific tracks while Spotify investigates further.

What helped for me is first switching off Picture in Picture (settings/playback) then restart Spotify, and switching it back on. It’s not a full solution since when skipping to the next song still shows for a moment no artwork, but half second later it loads it.

No workarounds work, its a bug and they need to fix it asap because its been around for way too long now.

My previous workaround stopped working, so no valid anymore.

MihahilY that's great, but where is the solution? Everyone here, and I'm sure many many others, is experiencing this issue despite paying for this service, and yet it's taking weeks to resolve the small issue.

An update for Spotify, version 9.0.8, just came out via the App Store on iOS. The problem still exists!

just saw that one of the mods responded 3 days ago saying it’s in queue to be fixed

Tried editing the settings and nothing changed it’s still happening.
