Audio quality / Sound volume issues on Playstation 5 App

Hey folks!

We're aware of volume issues with the Spotify app on PS5 after a recent update, mainly that the volume output is too low. This is currently being investigated.

Hi everyone,

Thank you for your patience and input so far.

We're setting this issue to Not Right Now as we're unable to provide an exact timeline for a fix at this moment. However, rest assured this will remain on our internal teams' radar and we'll check back in here with a new status when we have any new information to share.

In the meantime, make sure to always keep the app up to date.

Take care.

Just want to note it is not the devices or headphones we are using the app on.the ps5 version of spotify is just very low audio volume when we upgrade the app from ps4 to ps5 app. Basically saying nothing was wrong with ps4 version it is the most recent upgrade to ps5 messed up the volume on max volume.

(Low audio is for every device and headphones I tried multiple things for testing)

Since the PS5 update the volume is 50% of what it should be. This is only when using Linear PCM. Setting to Dolby or DTS normalizes the volume (for me).

My setup:

  • Samsung HW-Q950T
  • PS5 Settings
    • AV Amplifier
    • 7.1 Surround
    • Linear PCM

Any update on this? It's been a while...

Is this problem fixed yet? All of my songs are low with all of my headsets I didn't notice this until the recent PS5 update

Hey folks,

Thanks for your replies and for the info shared.

We don't mean to sound repetitive, but, be aware, we'll need all the info we asked for in the status, so we can report every single case to our tech team.

Rest assured this is being investigated. So! If you kindly sent us some of the details, no worries, you can reply again with the remaining ones.

Any news on this matter will be posted in this thread, so we'd recommend to subscribe here in the three dot menu: that way you'll be notified when we post updates.

We'll be on the lookout, so keep us in the loop!

Dear @AlejaR ,

We have stated that the problem is ( Volume Normalisation ). This has been added to the new update and it supposes to be off not on.

The Ps4 version of Spotify has this (Volume Normalisation) off, and on this new native PS5 version it is on and it messed up the volume so bad.

You say you're looking for info and here i am i gave you the exact problem and provided to you and you need no other info more than this.

So do us a favour and give us a date of the fix!

Chu-

It's such q shame when i said it a million times it's volume normalization and they are still asking for headset and other ridiculous stuff.

I have alot to say but honestly i get it at this point trying to make act like youre doing your job when you arent and care when you don't.

Please for the people who are waiting for the fix don't renew your subscription cause it doesn't seem to be close they are not even paying attention 👎

Agreed @Chu- patience is wearing very thin when it should be such an easy fix. Give us the option to use the ps4 version again or to be able to turn audio normalization off! There's only one version of Spotify for ps5 so it should have been figured out by now. The update was before Halloween were getting close to 2 months now. No settings on our tvs or headsets caused the issues with Spotify

@Brobean

Changing to Dolby or dts doesn't change anything for my headphones, but its interesting if it does for your sound bar. Could also make it seem like it's working because it's directing your music at you while sending other sounds in another direction wile using dolby, idk
