Audio quality / Sound volume issues on Playstation 5 App

Hey folks!

We're aware of volume issues with the Spotify app on PS5 after a recent update, mainly that the volume output is too low. This is currently being investigated.

Hi everyone,

Thank you for your patience and input so far.

We're setting this issue to Not Right Now as we're unable to provide an exact timeline for a fix at this moment. However, rest assured this will remain on our internal teams' radar and we'll check back in here with a new status when we have any new information to share.

In the meantime, make sure to always keep the app up to date.

Take care.

I just now updated to the PS5 version of spotify and notice a worsening of sound quality as well. It's significant and i notice it on my headset and monitor both. It's like going from stereo to mono but worse. I have the app and firmware updated to the latest. Surround sound is off.

It's annoying because when i got my ps5 i remember the quality jump from ps4 to ps5 was big and now it's a big step back again.

Same issue with Sonos arc

I now have audio quality issues (harsh sound and lower volume) when updated to the native PS5 app.

Same app version and PlayStation 5 software version as the other commenter.

Martin Logan passive sound bar.
Yamaha AV Reciver HDMI output.

Emotiva external amp.
No 3d audio enabled, only 5.1 surround.
I’ve changed nothing to my settings or setup.

The audio quality is the same as my Xbox series X now. Before the update I could switch between the two and notice a significant difference with the ps5 having better sounding audio. After, it’s very similar if not exactly the same.

1 Week later. Still no Fix.

It’s an issue for headphones users you can’t have the high volume as the previous PS4 version.

the new native app has volume normalisation and for headphones users you can’t make the volume as high used to be and it’s more noticeable for headphone users.

I use Razer Nari ultimate with maximum volume and 7.2 yet it’s too quiet. Ps5 is up to date.

please fix this fast it’s been awhile with this bad volume.

I have a problem with every audio output. I don't hear music. The problem started when the Spotify app informed me that there was a new version of the app dedicated to PS5. The old app for PS4 must be replaced.

I have an LG 32LB5610 TV.

I check the audio on the headphones JVC HA-RX300, audio tower JVC MX-J300 (AUX from TV audio output by jack cable), and built-in tv speakers.

Other apps and games work appropriately.

Volume is far too low for my music on the new most recent version of the PS5 application. It has stopped me from using the Spotify app on my PlayStation entirely, and since that's the only place I really use Spotify consistently I'm just not using the service I pay for now at all, which sucks.

SteelSeries Arctis Pro Headphones, I'd run through the other specs but this is already a known issue and thus I don't think specs will help with fixing audio normalization

Why is this under investigation still I really hope spotify fixes this it been a week and not fixed. Alot of the songs in spotify is just alot lower and can't get loud at max volume.
